One year ago we lost this beautiful soul Poppy; my best friend, fur niece and business namesake. She really was a girlโs best friend, always that winning smile, a buddy to walk with, talk with, spoon with and ever ready to climb on your lap and lick away your tears on a tough day. The first decade of my life in Australia I think Iโve spent time with her most days and through all the ups and downs sheโd been the best therapy and cheerleader. As a family we miss her everyday and notice her absence like a reassuring shadow (with a suspicious whiff at times ๐ฉ ๐) her stinky breath on your faceโฆhow I wish I could still smell it! Itโs taken a year of grief to finally put this post out and it hurts to go into my poppy album to retrieve these images Iโve avoided for so long. But here she is; beautiful as ever reminding me to โlive in joy, not sorrowโ - the ethos she resonates even now. No matter how many Traumas, tumours and thunder storms life throws at us; this brave rescue staffy girl gave almost 16 years of pure joy to all who knew her ๐๐๐ฅฐ๐
