National Shows ……. Are absolutely the best experiences I’ve had in my rabbit journey.
Why?

2. Connection
The opportunity to meet and connect with people from around Australia - who have the same crazy passion for our fancy.
These connections have often become wonderful friendships and a big reason I’m still living the crazy bunny life.
3. the Experience
A National show is next level compared to local shows. It’s inspiring and reignites my excitement each and every time.
I’ve entered 3 interstate shows - The Sydney Royal 2024, Australian Champs (Adelaide) 2024 and last weekend Australian Champs in Ballarat.
Each and every one has had me an anxious ball of nerves and each and every one I’ve gotten the end of the show, excited for the next one.
Do I enter thinking I have a chance of winning? Of course not 😂
For the first time, I set myself a goal of coming home with a challenge certificate last show. Previously I’ve just hoped like mad I don’t embarrass myself.
What I’ve learnt about entering big shows …… there is nothing embarrassing about entering a well presented, healthy rabbit - no matter where you place. It’s something to be proud of, and you’ll find that the top exhibitors are always encouraging with new exhibitors who take pride in the care and presentation of their exhibits. And you never know…… you could just end up going home with a gifted Runner Up in Show exhibit 😉
Seeing in person how your owner bred rabbits compare to the very best exhibits of your breed is an experience not to be missed. The opportunity for getting hands on experience of top exhibits is even better.
So if you are lucky enough to have a national show in your state - go! You’ve got no excuse not to……. And you never know, your results might just surprise you.
