I’m starting to accumulate a really great selection of saddle trees for demonstration and educational purposes.

As well as having the full range of Stride Free Peter Horobin Saddlery (PHS) trees, I’m also adding a variety of other trees representing different disciplines, designs and materials.

Having these available means I can use them to demonstrate how different tree shapes, widths, materials and designs can influence saddle fit — and help riders better understand what is (and isn’t) suitable for their horse.

Finding the right solution 🤍

My goal with every saddle fitting is to find the best possible solution for the horse and rider in front of me — and that doesn’t always mean buying a new saddle.

Where possible, I’m more than happy to work with what you already have, whether that means adjusting the existing saddle, looking at different pad options, or making modifications to improve the fit.

In Layne’s case, we were able to work with her existing saddle and utilising a Peter Horobin Sheepskin pad with shims tailored to suit her individual shape and asymmetry.

It’s so rewarding to hear that she is now happier to go forward, no longer pinning her ears back, and that Kylie is feeling more balanced and confident in the saddle too. 🐴🤍

Back in the swing of things after a couple of weeks of downtime! ✨
