🇺🇸☆🇺🇸 Pedigree Turkish Van Rescue ~ Julia 🇺🇸☆🇺🇸
Julia is a healthy, 11-year old purebred Turkish Van. She is spayed, microchipped and vaccines are current.
Julia came from an award-winning breeder, was sold as a kitten, and then returned to the breeder when her owner died about a year ago. The owner’s family wasn’t able to keep Julia due to their dogs being aggressive with cats. In the transition, Julia’s TICA papers were lost.
Julia is looking for an exceptional forever home. Once Julia warms up to you, she will want to be brushed, played with and will be a loyal companion. She gives “I love you” blinks and rubs against legs to show her affection. She absolutely loves catnip toys and scratchers!
Julia’s perfect home wish list is as follows:
• Lots of sunny spots to enjoy. A screened porch or catio would be ideal!
• Cat perches and trees to utilize her breed’s climbing ability and love of heights
• A calm, clean home without children or dogs, other cats are ok
• Catnip scratchers and toys
• A cat tunnel
• Someone who will play with her at least once daily. She is still very active and playful!
• Someone who can brush her daily
• Someone who can work with her to get her more comfortable being handled, specifically trimming claws
• Someone who enjoys a cat who talks to them
• Someone who will be patient with her finicky appetite. It’s improving in her foster home but she still may be finicky at times.
• Someone who appreciates an intelligent cat and their curiosity
She is not a lap cat but rather a cat that likes to be near you. Although Julia prefers to be the only cat in the house, she can be around other cats but she won’t bond with them. She will most likely hiss or growl at them to keep their distance. However, she doesn’t start fights. This probably comes from her being an only cat for most of her life.
Note, Julia is not good around children or dogs.
Julia is a large cat but is not overweight at 11 pounds. The vet said she could actually gain a half pound or so.
Her adoption fee is $225 just to help cover the cost of medical care.
Julia is one of the Turkish Vans that have a small mark between their shoulder blades called “the thumbprint of God” or the “Thumbprint of Allah.” It is considered a sign that the cat is blessed or is thought to be good luck.
Note: Any potential adopters must agree to NOT DECLAW this cat.
Julia likes and uses both vertical and horizontal scratchers.
Email [email protected] for more information or to schedule a time to meet Julia.
Julia must go to a home within driving distance of zip code 76028.
