🐛 **Tapeworms in Pets – How Do They Get Them?** 🐛

Many people are surprised to learn that the most common way dogs and cats get tapeworms is by swallowing an infected flea while grooming themselves!

Pets can also pick up certain types of tapeworms from hunting and eating rodents, rabbits, or other small prey. Once infected, tapeworms live in the intestines and shed small segments that often look like grains of rice around your pet's tail, bedding, or droppings.

Signs of tapeworm infection may include:
🔹 Rice-like segments around the rear end
🔹 Scooting or licking at the tail area
🔹 Mild digestive upset
🔹 Sometimes no signs at all!

🐭 Increased Mouse Numbers = Increased Risk of Leptospirosis 🐶

With mouse numbers on the rise across our region, now is a great time to think about protecting your dog against leptospirosis.

Leptospirosis is a serious bacterial disease spread through the urine of infected rodents and other wildlife. Dogs can become infected through contaminated water, mud, soil, or even by investigating areas where rodents have been active.

🐑 PREGNANCY TOXAEMIA IN EWES — KNOW THE SIGNS 🐑
