Good afternoon everyone. Thank you to everyone that volunteered their baby for grooming etc. As most of you know just after my announcement I had a bad fall and bruised my spine in two areas and cracked a rib, that then followed with a pain medication drama etc and I had to cancel everyone. Thank you all for understanding.

I am now on the mend and able to bend again..lol., I will contact everyone rhat said yes ans hope your fur baby is still keen to put their paw up but if you still would like the offer, message me and book a suitable time....

Thank you to LV, noodles, Korra and Nilah who were able to either get in before or now for trusting me with your looks....

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

I have recently completed a pet grooming course, yah, and while I am still in the process of obtaining all the equipment I need, esp the proper table and bath, I am calling for fur baby volunteers, who would like a FREE wash, brush, toe nails etc. Non designer trims with clipperd also offered, please no fancy french poodle looks.....

Please note, that I am still learning and your fur baby may not be perfectly groomed but I prom8se no bowl cuts or baboon butts.

With the temperature set to rise again for the next week, remember to look out for your fur babies.

While is it more common to think of dogs in the heat, cats also need attention not to suffer from heat exhsustion or heat stroke.

Kitty can be helped to stay cool by providing shady cool areas outside, providing multiple water bowls that are out of the heat. Preferably bring kitty inside, close curtains, have a fan on or purchase a cooling mat or place a wet towel in a box for them.

If going away, have someone check in on them, esp if out in the heat.

Signs of heat stroke in cats include -
* Heavy Panting
* Drooling
* Very Red Gums
* Glazed eyes
* Vomiting or diarrhoea

If you suspect heat stroke in your cat...contact your VET IMMEDIATELY.
Move your cat to a cool place, give only little bits of water at a time to drink and either spray them or wrap in a wet towel, with room temp water as cold or ice water may induce shock.

Stay cool this week and dnt forget the sun screen for you and the fur babies......

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my beautiful furry, feathered and wooly clients and their owners.
Thank you all for the priveledge of caring for your babies.

As this weather has brought such high temps, our fur babies need some extra thought.
- no walking your dog in this heat, paws will burn and the chance of heat stroke increases for you both.
- regularly check not only water supply but temp of the water, some animals such as cats and chickens will not drink warm/hot water and will go without.
- provided shade for any outside animals
- toddler pools such as clam shell shaped provide water and a jump in area for dogs.
- ice blocks or cubes in water supply
- dnt forget sunscreen, esp for white animals, they burn and get skin cancer just like us

And of course if you can bring animals in with you to chill and relax under the AC or fan.
