ā ļø MOTHERāS DAY WARNING FOR CAT OWNERS ā ļø
If youāre giving flowers to a cat mum this Motherās Day, please read below.
Lilies can KILL cats. Even a tiny amount, a nibble of a flower or leaf, a lick of pollen from their fur or floor, or even drinking the vase water, can cause sudden, fatal kidney failure.
Every year, emergency vets see tragic cases after well-meaning flower deliveries arrive in homes with cats.
Lilies may be beautiful, but for cats they are one of the most dangerous plants there is.
š« Why theyāre so risky:
⢠All parts of true lilies (Lilium and Hemerocallis species) are toxic, including the petals, leaves, stems, pollen and vase water.
⢠Symptoms can begin within hours: vomiting, drooling, lethargy, loss of appetite.
⢠Without urgent veterinary treatment, many cats do not survive.
⢠Even brushing past the flowers can be dangerous if pollen sticks to the coat and is licked off later.
If youāre ordering flowers for someone with cats, please ask for NO lilies in the bouquet.
And if you have cats yourself, the safest option is to never L keep lilies in your home or garden.
One small choice could save a catās life this Motherās Day.
