Each day this week, from Monday to Friday, we are at Gateway Shopping Centre in Palmerston from 11am to 1pm with some of our different Animal Species, focusing on different topics to educate people about the amazing animals we have in our local environment. Today, we are here showing you some different ways to help our local animals that are struggling to survive. So come down, say hi and learn a couple little tricks that you can do in your backyard to help out our wildlife!

Our newest additions made their debut appearance at After Dark event last week. Croc Coves Darwin backyard display was the perfect place to talk about the importance of sharing our habitat with some of the fluffy critters that sneak in and terrorise our beautiful- 'I put blood sweat and tears into this pawpaw(no grudges 😅)' gardens, but are absolute vital parts of the ecosystem.

And what a beautiful evening it was!

Australia is home to 381 endangered and critically endangered animal species — and their survival depends on us.

At Top End Critters, we're proud to play a role in the conservation and education of some of these amazing animals. Right now, we care for four endangered species:

🦘 Woylies (Brush-tailed Bettongs)
🦎 Mitchell’s Water Goannas
🦎 Merten’s Water Goannas
🦇 Spectacled Flying Foxes (Fruit-Bats)

Through our partnership with WEN (Wildlife Exhibitors Network), we're actively involved in the breeding and long-term survival of these species—helping ensure a secure future for generations to come.

We believe that awareness is one of the most powerful tools in conservation. Whether it's protecting animals in the wild or making small changes in your own backyard, everyone can make a difference.

That’s why we’re passionate about hands-on educational experiences. Meeting an animal up close creates connection, empathy, and a lasting impact—often sparking a lifetime of care and action for our wildlife.
