Winter mornings look a little different around here. ❄️🐴
As the colder weather sets in, the team are making the most of a well-earned sleep-in. Since we do all our work in the afternoons, there's not much movement around the stables until the sun is well and truly up and has taken the chill off.
You won't find too many early risers here at this time of year—just plenty of horses enjoying a cosy snooze before it's time to get to work. 😴
After all... nap time is the best time of the day, and judging by this lot, they couldn't agree more! ❤️

We've been a little quiet on our page lately, but don't let that fool you – there's still plenty happening behind the scenes at MG Racing! 🐎
This time we've got something a little different, and we're excited to introduce the newest member of our team.
This beautiful unnamed 2-year-old gelding.

He enjoyed a well-earned spell before returning to work a few weeks ago. Since then, he has settled back into stable life beautifully, and we couldn't be happier with the progress he's made.
He's proving to be a lovely young horse with a bright future ahead, and we can't wait to share more of his journey with you all as his education continues.

After winning over 1400m at Latrobe Valley against handy Victorian opposition, we believe she'll be a fantastic addition to our country circuit team.

🏇 Double Header Complete! 🏇
After racing at Injune yesterday- we headed to Warren today Sunday 14th June to see Champagne Queen step out in the $50,000 Super Maiden over 1600m.
While we didn't get the win, we're incredibly proud of her effort. Up against some handy horses,
Champagne Queen finished 6th, beaten just 1.3 lengths after some interference in the home straight and taking a knock, she never gave up and kept fighting to the line.
Don't let her size fool you — she is flat out being 15hh, but she has a huge heart and showed plenty of grit when it counted. 🙏
Stablemates Za Hidden Dragon and Al Ash Lad also made the trip. While they finished unplaced, both benefited from the run against strong opposition.
What a huge weekend on the road — 2,400km in 48 hours!

🏇🚛 Injune – 13th June 🚛🏇
A 1,100km round trip with a team of four, and we're heading home with a double!🥇🥇
🏆 Race 2 – BM50 1000m Zouphisticate continued her great form, taking home the win with a terrific ride by Amie Messner. That's now 3 wins from 6 starts this year.
🏆 Race 4 – Class 2 1400m Malarina was impressive again, scoring a well-deserved win after a patient ride by Darren Evans.
👏 Seeburg ran another honest race, with the short Injune straight not quite suiting his racing style.
💙 Unfortunately Tilussion's race ended shortly after the start when her rider was dislodged after contact from another runner. Thankfully, both horse and rider were unharmed.
A huge thank you to all our owners and connections for their ongoing support, and to all the jockeys for the great job they do keeping our horses safe.
Days like these make the long trip worthwhile!

👑 The Queen has entered the chat! 👑
Champagne Queen is shaping up as a very promising staying prospect after an outstanding run at Moree. Starting at a staggering $101, she stormed home to finish 3rd, beaten just 1.6 lengths in a TAB maiden.
Watch the replay and keep an eye on her down the straight. After settling nearly 10 lengths off the field at the tail, she dug deep and charged home late to grab a placing in a performance full of merit.
Thank you to Georgie McDonnell for not giving up on her after getting so far back.
A huge thank you to her wonderful owners who have stuck by her through a challenging 12 months of setbacks. There were times when we genuinely weren't sure if she would make it back to the racetrack, which makes this result even more special.
She's still learning her craft, but the signs are there that she has a bright future ahead. We can't wait to see how she progresses this preparation.

Cunnamulla Races – 24th May
Home track double ✌️🥇🥇
Race 2 – BM60 1000m 🥇
Za Hidden Dragon storms home for another win with a beautiful ride by Todd Banks. Our old stable battler continues to give his all every time he steps out.
Race 5 – BM55 1400m 🥇
Malarina was outstanding, taking out the win by 2.5 lengths. Darren Evans rode her perfectly, settling early before producing an amazing finishing burst to take over late.
The remaining runners finished unplaced but all put in honest efforts and will take improvement into their next starts.
A big thank you to all our riders for looking after the team out on the track, and congratulations to all connections involved.
