Kanandah Park Performance Horses

Kanandah Park Performance Horses In 2002 the first foal arrived which marked the beginning of a passion for breeding sporthorses.

My goal is to breed athletic, talented, sound horses who are attractive and a pleasure for their owners. My operation is only on a small scale due to career commitments as an equine vet, however from a handful of horses which are now at competition age I am rather proud of their achievements and look forward to watching more of my youngsters go out and make their mark in years to come..

Indy and Ada went down to Lovedale on the weekend and we had a lovely relaxed outing. Indy did the 60 combined training, doing her first ever dressage test and it was only 0.63 penalties behind the leader with a nice 67.81%. She jumped cleanly and that left us in second place from 12 horses- good effort for a mare who is still green at her first comp..
Ada came for a drive too and just popped around a 60 SJ course. She got a bit tense in the warmup but switched on in the ring and just had one rail down (rider error getting the rush of blood and seeing a long spot that I shouldn’t have 😂).
The girls will both have a few weeks off and we will see what we can do before the season hits again 🙈.

Indy having her second look at water when we got to go up to Quirindi and have a flexi day lesson with Lauren. She was super sensible and really didn’t put a foot wrong ❤️.

Ada at only her second time jumping..
After a good few weeks off following a run in with a fence she was dragged out pretty raw and did herself proud! Thanks as usual to Jess Somerfield at Wildfire for taking the time to run a clinic over the Easter weekend so we could have some fun with our ponies and kick some goals!

Today we did something out of left field and joined a 20km training ride hosted by Watagans Endurance Club. Indy still isn’t quite ready to go eventing, so this seemed like a nice way to have an alternate day out.
Hats off to the guys that do the big classes- after 20km we were glad to be finished 😅- neither Indy or myself have a natural talent for distance lol! Still we had a fun day out, there were lots of lovely supportive people lending guidance to us newbies which was amazing!

Introducing Chance..
Born December 2025 Stedinger x Bellario/Capone
This c**t has literally been years in the making, and he has defied the odds to be here after a battle throughout the pregnancy to hold off a severe placentitis. He was born with a residual sepsis (and only just over half the placenta not affected by the infection despite agressive therapy) and then after everything getting crypto scour which landed him in hospital for awhile at 6 days old 😅. Many thanks to my clever colleagues in medicine at Scone Equine nursing him through when he got too sick to manage at home and my owner brain was not coping with also trying to be the vet 😅. He is looking every inch a special horse for the future, and I’m so glad Helen encouraged me to fight when it looked hopeless at that 14 day scan and I was ready to give up! Ceylee has been a fantastic mum, it’s nice when one of your homebred girls grows up and you get to watch her have her own foal, and a flash one at that 😍. He was born the day Springside announced the passing of Stedinger, that in itself makes him just a little bit special..

Hunter Valley Showjumping Championships 2025

It was a special outing jumping those tracks on Socs as I’ve decided to look after his legs as he’s getting older and we will now focus on his dressage going forward. I’ll still let him pop the odd log when we go hacking just so he thinks he’s still got it 😉. He has given me wings and he loves to jump but I want him to last as long as possible as my riding partner, so a bit of a job change is in order. He is just such a wonderful little horse with the biggest of hearts ❤️.

So I was keen to see the magnificent venue that is Ellerston for the first time, and what better way to do it than from the back of my pony at Scone Horse Trials..
We had so much fun, while not our best dressage there was only about 4% between us and the leader (and we were in 9th so hugely competitive!). The show jump course was absolutely beautiful, just one rider rail when I got overly cautious into a vertical and put him super deep 🙈. Cross country clean and plenty of time left on the clock. What a memorable weekend with my favourite little horse ❤️.
Must say the atmosphere was super friendly and I enjoyed hanging out with my Denman eventing crew- not to mention my awesome cheer squad of Jess and Lane coming up too!
