This week is Dog Anxiety Awareness Week, an important reminder that our furry friends can feel anxiety and stress too.

Here are some tips to help your pup feel calmer and happier:

- Watch for signs of anxiety like pacing, restlessness or excessive barking, as these can all be clues.
- Stick to a routine as predictability makes dogs feel secure.
- Daily exercise and play help release stress and build confidence.
- Create a safe space, as a cosy corner with favourite toys can be a calming retreat.
- Talk to our team if anxiety is impacting your dog’s life, as professional support can make all the difference.

Every dog is unique, and showing patience, love and understanding goes a long way toward their wellbeing 🐾💙

This year’s theme, “Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in the veterinary profession”, reminds us how important it is to welcome people from all backgrounds into this vital field.

In honour of ANZAC Day, our clinic will be closed on Saturday 25 April and Monday 27 April for the public holiday.

We take this time to pause and remember the service and sacrifice of the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women.

We will reopen as normal on Tuesday.

If your pet requires urgent care during this time, please contact your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.

Lest we forget.

✨ Please join us in welcoming Dr Threnody to the team!

Dr Threnody’s veterinary journey has taken her around the world — from undergraduate studies at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, to London where she completed her veterinary degree, and on to a wildlife internship with the Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network, where she focused on surgery and rehabilitation of native species.

More recently, she’s made the big move down under with her fiancé and her 3-year-old rescue cat, Pepper 🐱

She’s excited to settle in and build strong connections with our local pets and community.

Heartworm may start as just a tiny bite from a mosquito, but left unchecked, it can grow into a life-threatening problem for your pet. 🐶🐱

Understanding the heartworm lifecycle helps us see why prevention is so important—monthly preventatives are far safer and easier than treating the disease once it develops. Keep your furry friends protected and healthy year-round!
