Hi guys can you please make sure when parking at the front that you park under or before the tree on my naturestrip and not in the red line area that I have marked in photo. Please don't park directly opposite the neighbours across the road driveway, it does make it hard for them to reverse out if you park further up my naturestrip, we all know how narrow the streets are in my area 🙂

I had a lovely long weekend away last weekend with the dogs at warnambool. Ivy and Tux were entered in a scent work trial. They both did well with Tux earning two more passes towards his scent title, Ivy also passed her vehicle search. Tux had his first swim at the beach, he won't swim at the dog pool but the beach was a huge hit, he was crazy excited😆 We explored the beautiful botanic Gardens and tried to get some nice pics of the dogs at the beach but the wet weather and strong winds made for some very wind affected ears pics 😆.The dog competition was held at a secondary college using some of the classrooms for the dogs to search in to find the hidden scent. Tux found his scent hidden under a filing cabinet in the classroom and then hidden under a seat in his outside search. He had 3 minutes to find the scent and he found it in 30 seconds🙂

Here is a video of a training day scent search with tux. A cotton tip infused with Birch oil was hidden under a piece of rubber on the ground, this was called a ground hide which was a sneaky hiding place, it was a horse corral at an equestrian centre so plenty of horse smells to distract the dogs, Tux did super well finding this scent, excuse the sideways angle of the video but you can see him spin around as he walks past the hidden scent and places his nose on the scent, we train the dogs to do this then they get a food reward , this search took tux a whole 7 seconds 😉 At competitions we have to find scent hidden on cars, indoor rooms in buildings, the scent can be hidden on tables, chairs, any object in the search area. The searches get alot harder as the dog moves up to the higher levels

We competed in our first scent work trial yesterday held at the beautiful Yarra Glen racecourse. Ivy and Tux did really well , both of them passed the scent searches they were entered in, there were so many dogs entered but the dogs did so well to concentrate and behave themselves 🙂. We have only been training for these competitions for 6 months so they did really well considering we are all still learning how to find the hidden scent.

Fantastic day yesterday, I entered Tux in his first dog show in nearly 3 years since he was a baby puppy, we had a double open show which are smaller shows so perfect stress free environment for us both for his first shows back as a big boy. Tux beat 200 dogs to win Best in show, he behaved so well, he was happy to win a 20kg bag of dry food😆
