PAWS Darwin is a rehoming centre for animals in the Darwin and surrounds area, but it is also a place where pet owners can get advice and help to manage their pets before they get to the too hard stage. We believe that by providing the skill set needed to support people who love animals we can change the out come for many individual pet owners, we focus on local issues and local pets with local pe

🐾Meet Ellie🐾 - a stunning 3.5-year-old greyhound with a calm soul and a heart full of love. With her sleek frame, soulful eyes, and sweet nature, Ellie is the kind of dog who quickly wins over everyone she meets.

She’s past the puppy stage but still young enough to enjoy life’s adventures—whether that’s a quiet walk through the park, a lazy afternoon on the couch, or exploring new sights and smells. Ellie has a gentle and affectionate nature and would thrive in a home where she can enjoy company, cuddles, and a predictable routine.

Like many greyhounds, Ellie is low-maintenance and loves nothing more than to lounge around after a short burst of play. She's friendly with other dogs and could happily share her home with a canine companion. While her experience with cats is still being assessed, she’s shown a calm and manageable demeanor around small animals.

Ellie is looking for a forever family who will cherish her soft personality, offer a comfy bed, and give her all the love she’s waited so patiently for.

🐾Meet Jamie🐾 - A sweet soul looking for her furever family!

Jamie started as a scared little kitten afraid of the very big and very new world around her. Slowly but surely she has been introduced to lots of new people, animals, and experiences that have helped her grow into a cuddly and charming cat! While Jamie can show her shy side to strangers, she's especially fond of other cats and dogs, and will quickly befriend any furry companion that comes her way.

Jamie was extra scared when she first came into her current foster home, but with her carer's love, patience and understanding, Jamie revealed her affectionate and gentle nature. Although her quiet countenance can come across as aloof, Jamie has no less love to offer for her new family.

🐾Meet Salt🐾 - a 2-year-old Shar Pei x Staffy with the biggest heart!

He’s a total sweetheart around the house, great with older kids, and absolutely adores being by your side. He plays beautifully with his foster family's female dog (she bosses him around and he loves it!) and he’s been exposed to lots of people and new experiences.

Salt would love to be part of a family who is willing to continue his training. He needs a big yard to play that is secure as he can jump high and loves to explore.
Salt has learnt how to share his food and no longer resource guards in the home. He's also familiar with the lead and leash walking, but is strong when he pulls and will need to be with someone who can handle a dog of his size.

He does have some complex needs: he’s reactive to other dogs (especially non-desexed males) and has had a couple of incidents in the past.
Salt would thrive in a home with one other female dog as he would love a companion.

A calm home with someone who understands reactive dogs and can offer structure, patience, and love. He’s not perfect – but he’s loyal, affectionate, and full of potential.

Looking for something fun to do with (or without) the kids on the final weekend of the school holidays? Then, why not pop in and visit us here at PAWS?

This Saturday (04/10), from 10.00am - 2.00pm we will be throwing the doors open and having a little get-together. Our volunteers will be offering washing, grooming and wellness checks for your pets at a great holiday discount.

You will have the opportunity to meet and greet some of our beautiful animals and ask any questions you might have about fostering,or adopting that next, special member of the family.

Join Sprocket, Salt (pictured), and some of other amazing animals for a coffee, a group dog walk around Coolalinga and the chance to meet some of the wonderful foster carers and adoptive owners that make PAWS such an incredible community to be a part of.

She is an extremely cuddly girl, who is happy just chilling and hanging out where you are. She has been in foster with another cat and was independent but co-existing happily, however would most likely fit in with a household where she's the only fur baby, or with another cat who will respect her boundaries.

While she may be a novice adventurer, Honey's curiosity knows no bounds. She's always up for exploring new surroundings, albeit in her own gentle and cautious way.
