A dog’s walk can tell you a lot more than people think 🐾
After years of walking dogs in structured groups, one of the biggest things I’ve learnt is that behaviour on a walk is information.
A relaxed body, constant scanning, sniffing, pulling, avoiding other dogs or over-friendly greetings all mean something. They’re not random habits, and they’re not always “good” or “bad” behaviour either.
Very often, dogs are simply communicating how they feel in that moment.
That’s why I always say a good walk is not just about exercise. It’s also about reading the dog in front of you, understanding what they need, and giving them the right kind of support, routine and social experience.
Save this post for later and have a look next time you’re out walking your dog 🤍
