Last month we were lucky enough to encounter a Murray-Darling Carpet Python - one of the rarest snake species found in Victoria with under 200 spotted in the wild! After applying some first aid and a little bit of TLC, this guy was released back into the bush 💚 🐍

The newest addition to our family - Claire🐬💚

What is your role at Border Vets?
I am a vet Nurse in training. I started in February this year.

Tell us about yourself! Previous roles?
I grew up on a farm until moving to Barham, where I’ve worked on a dairy farm for the last 4 years and still am! I have completed a Cert II in animal care and currently am doing a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Favourite part of your job?
I love exploratory surgeries and emergencies. And all the cuddles from our patients!

What do you do outside of work?
I play netball for my home club Moula! And love anything outdoors, camping, fishing and exploring Aus. Hope to do the big lap one day!

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
A dolphin! I love to travel, explore and learn new things.

Fun fact about yourself?
I have an interest in taxidermy and would love to go to the states to a taxidermy school.

This weeks superstar patient is Goose! 🪿

Goose received treatment for snake envenomation at our Kerang clinic, and it’s safe to say she captured the hearts of our staff 💛 A reminder that snakes are still out and about despite the cool change in weather!

What is your role at Border Vets?
Veterinarian. I have been here for 1 and half years.

Tell us about yourself! Previous roles?
I’m from Hamilton and now live in Moulamein. I studied at Charles Sturt University in Wagga and came to Border Vets as a student. I recently completed a 4 month internship at Victorian Equine Group!

Favourite part of your job?
Learning new things everyday.

What do you do outside of work?
I play Polo Cross, water ski and play netball for Moulamein.

If you were an animal, what would you be?
Donkey – Just keep chugging along.
