Clever Pup Dog Training are offering you and your dog Controlled Socialisation & Training which of course includes play. This is not just a Doggy Daycare with it's many potential problems. What we offer is a safe controlled space with an accredited trainer supervising your pet. Please read the benefits of our sessions and some of the many reviews from happy clients.
The biological power of play: Play is fundamental, and can literally reconfigure and reprogram an animalโs brain.
The science of Epigenetics: Play affects behaviors and how your dog perceives the environment, thus causing changes in the way your pet's genes work, so it is effective in reprogramming undesirable breed traits. In the same way, non-controlled socialisation may have a negative impact on your dog's mindset.
Developing an optimistic mindset: Play induces a strong positive emotional state that helps animals become more optimistic. An optimistic animal expects good things to happen and is more likely to be curious rather than fearful.
Building resilience through โRough and Tumble": Social play teaches animals to handle slight discomfort (like being chased), learning that positive events follow such moments (like chasing the other); this helps build resilience.
Training for the unexpected: The unpredictable nature of play helps animals learn to deal with unexpected events without being overwhelmed.
Seven Practical Reasons to Use Play:
- Strengthening the relationship and adding to the โrelationship bank.โ
- Inducing a positive mood and appropriate arousal level to set the stage for learning.
- Acting as a powerful reinforcer during training.
- Creating a 'place preference' to help animals feel safe and happy in strange and possibly stressful locations like the vet.
- Physically inhibiting fear responses in the brain.
- Managing arousal levels to boost speed for activities like agility.
- Improving memory consolidation so the animal remembers their training better the next day.
- Safety and Rehabilitation: establishing safety is the first priority for anxious or shutdown animals before they can truly open up to the benefits of play.
"So excited for Dave to see his friends!!
Dave's socialisation skills really paid off over Christmas, we stayed with family and there were 5 other dogs there all the time and on Christmas day Dave was one of 13 dogs. Apart from a 15 year old Dachshund who was there on Christmas day Dave was by far the smallest dog. He did so well and he really wouldn't have without having his socialisation training days โค๏ธ"

"We are so pleased with how Sandy and Garry have helped our Aussie with socialisation skills. Sandy has been great with communication since the minute we reached out to her. We were very comfortable leaving our pup with her knowing he would be well looked after. Sandy has a great knowledge about everything including holistic dog health and well being" Clodagh and Cash
