Did your dog sudden adopt a 'React First, Ask Questions Later' MO?

Reactive behaviour often seems like it's come out of no where. One minute they were okay with other dogs - now you have a growling, yapping yoyo at the end of your lead. They once only bark around the house every so often - now they're practicing for hours for the upcoming Canines' Got Talent you didn't know existed!

My sessions with reactive dogs cover two aspects:
1. Practical training that creates new behaviour and deepens your connection
2. Bodywork that brings them back into a thinking, learning mindset

Guiding your dog into a new way of responding to and feeling about the world is how behaviour shifts and transforms.

Book in for an in person or online session for $75 AUD.

DM me with any questions or to book this in. I look forward to helping you.

Signs Your Cat is Offering Consent During a pat

1. Turning their head to you with soft eyes
2. Purring
3. Claw flexing
4. Squinty ears, relaxed forward ears
5. Head bunting
6. Rubbing up against you
7. Leaning into the touch

Check in and make sure they're still enjoying it by stopping every few seconds and see if they offer you a noticeable request to continue. If not, they might just like to sit in companionable silence with you.

Remember there's more ways to connect with animals that don't always involve our monkey fingers.

Having a dog that has a big bark feast at the door when your visitors arrive can be a headache. This training will help teach your dog to be calmer when they hear knocking, the door bell or someone call out 'Hello!'.

Check out my youtube video for solving this: https://youtu.be/E4jME_jg8iQ?si=WuPXMV9vFJeZEnoX

If you haven't worked with a marker cue, also check out my 'Yes' marker training for dogs and cats.

Do you have a fussy eater who seems to react to all the new foods you try? Have you given up trying to train with treats because your dog or cat's enthusiasm for food is so low?

Food is an animal's life force, but sometimes food can cause physical imbalance enough to create reactions like upset stomach, diarrhea, skin irritations and lack of appetite.

The process of finding the right foods for your animal can be a long one which is why using kinesiology therapy is great. We can instantly assess whether a food is supporting the body or suppressing it's ability to thrive. With a tailored diet, your cat or dog can once again feel better in their own body, their food reactions are able to clear up and gut health thrives.

My online Animal Diet Session is $75 AUD.

In this session we'll test food samples and also look at any associated stress your cat or dog is feeling and release it through bodywork techniques.

If you'd like to have a session for you animal, DM me and let's chat about gut health!

One of the things that brings me a lot of joy when working with animals is the subtle and sometimes bigger shifts that happen during a session.

I once worked with a stressed horse which my muscle testing showed was dehydrated. We weren't able to get him to drink at the time, but as we worked more on balancing his body, he suddenly took off to have a big guzzle from the water trough.

Often in kinesiology balances I do with cats or dogs, their energy shifts somewhere during the session and their humans can see a visual relaxation or upward mood shift.

Iggy (pictured) is one of these cats. He started the session unable to settle and half way through took to purring and lounging on my kinesiology books. It made me grin. I like to take this as positive client feedback. 😋

Do you have a moody cat who's friendliness would get a 2 Star Rating and an 'Unprovoked retaliation!!' custom review?

You'd love a more social companion, but there's nothing you can do because cats can't be trained or changed, right??

Behind every problem behaviour is an emotion state and when we work to assist this change happens. This is because animals file away their life experiences with emotions attached and the emotional component is what keeps their past experience alive and guides their present day behaviour. Behaviour that is anti-social comes with emotions like irritation, feeling unsupported, anxious or not confident. By helping them move past the emotion, we release the reason for the behaviour.

I help you with this using animal kinesiology. Its hands on while also not being invasive. If your cat is a 'look, don't touch!!' kind of kitty we have work arounds that will keep everyone happy.

We also do this work online, keeping your animal in their at home comfort zone and the stress low during the session.

My single online sessions are $95 AUD.

Wherever you are on your training or animal journey, stop for a moment and find something to appreciate about it.

Maybe it's the soft gaze your dog gives you.
The little win you had today.
The affectionate rub of your cat against your legs.
The trust they show you by sleeping next to you.

The journey is not all about the intended destination. It's about the small moments that teach us to be more conscious humans as we share our lives with them and others.

Saffi has been my third anxious dog and over the years of working with her I've been a student myself, learning how best to support her and how to read her stress signals (under all the blonde lambs wool!).

I initially thought she was bomb proof as a puppy. She show little to no reaction to things, none of the stress signals I was used to with Astra and I thought I'd hit the doggie jackpot!

Then I did some animal kinesiology work her and there was an immediate change in her behaviour. Suddenly, I had a dog who was showing stress in the way I knew and I realised she'd been stuck in what's called freeze adrenal stress. Instead of behaving reactively when stressed, she became blank and frozen.

These days Saffi expresses herself more vocally (cue the bark!) and we've been building a supportive relationship where I listen, respond and assist her to cope with the world as a little dog.

And it works. When we offer support and use effective communication, our animals feel safer and the need for reactivity is greatly reduced.

How does your own pup express their worry?
