I’m sure many of you know of, or have met, our beautiful Hamish. Unfortunately the move up here has not gone well for him. Due to needing multiple courses of antibiotics at a young age, Hamish has battled allergies his entire life. We had a good handle on it back down in the Illawarra, but since coming up here, the tropical climate has caused everything to flare up big time, despite us implementing more severe treatments. It’s getting worse as each week goes by.

Due to this, I am VERY reluctantly looking for a new home for Hamish, somewhere back down south and out of the tropics. He is seriously one in a million. The calmest boy ever, really lovely and calm to walk on lead or off. Very sweet nature, loves all people, gets along with almost any dog (everyone has a few they don’t like). I don’t even know how to describe how calm and sweet he is, but he is just the most beautiful soul who causes no trouble. He can be left in the house while I go out and nothing is out of place when I return.

I think he’d love a child or two in his new family, but it’s not a necessity. He’d love people home more than not also, or if not, then a doggy companion. He is good with cats, good around horses and cattle. Never seen sheep or goats but doubt he’d be a problem. Also never seen pocket pets but again i doubt there’d be an issue.

As I said, this is really hard and really sad for us so I will be very specific about his new family. If you think you’d be able to offer him a good home please reach out and we can discuss his medical needs.

He is getting desexed next week. 😊

Introducing the new “Puppyville” !! It was no small feat moving all of this gear (plus a LOT more) to the new house, but it all made it, thanks to a team of people who helped me ! I’ve spent the last week building the new area for the puppies. Hard work pays off, and here it is !! Very happy that we won’t need to dismantle this one any time soon 😂😂So excited have this amazing setup to help the puppies learn and develop 🥰🥰🥰

Sleepy babies after their exercises this morning. Today’s scent was parsley, and our one and only little boy absolutely loved it, everybody else had neutral or negative reactions (note: it doesn’t matter what response they have to different scents each day, it’s about exposure to the scents, not their feeling about the scent. However, it was super cute seeing the little boy love the scent so much! ) 🥰🥰🥰

The first three of nine new (very anticipated) raised shelters here and ready to go into our boarding day yards, providing not only a warm and dry spot, but also some much needed shade.

This is our second order from KOF Rural and once again, absolutely perfect work !! Stoked to say the least ! The new ones match perfectly in style with our old ones, which we use for the puppies 🥰 Swipe to last pic to see our original ones which are now 4 years old and still perfect ! 🥰🥰 Thanks KOF Rural team !

I’m often asked to describe our puppy raising program, and I thought others might be interested, too. So here it is 🥰

Our pups start life indoors under temperature control. They experience ENS and ESI to kick start their neurological systems, and they are gently handled daily. We also play noises to them daily, and expose them to all the general household noises we can.

When a bit older they move to outdoor pens (separate night and day pens), with raised kennels with straw bedding (a particular type of straw which holds heat well so they are lovely and cosy). In winter they also have heating to keep them warm. We move them outdoors to help build their gut resilience and exposure to normal outdoor things like dirt/grass/clover/gravel etc. It also helps immensely with toilet training as they learn to toilet in true outdoor environments.

During this time they have plenty of enrichment in their pens, but are also introduced to our confidence course, which they are run on daily. The course consists of various obstacles and tunnels designed to stimulate problem solving and help with tactile skills. They also have adventures around our property and enjoy the sights and smells. We expose them to traffic, cows, horses, cats if we can, and we also are sure to give them plenty of positive time around children.

We understand the balance between sleep and development so there is plenty of time for sleep and relaxation for them, too.

We feed our puppies premium foods - black hawk dry and Lyka, along with various toppers to give them variety. However we always keep the blackhawk and lyka base so we don’t compromise on their complete and balanced nutrition.

Our parent dogs are all health tested and carefully chosen for temperament and suitability to families. Most of our dogs are medium drive (prey, play, work, etc), but with daily exercise are very happy to be a couch potato the rest of the day.

Yes you can have a litter of pups and do the bare minimum — keep them in a pen, feed them, and clean up after them (at least we hope that’s the bare minimum!). A good breeder will do so much more, and work so much harder, because we have lives in our hands. Our goal is to produce confident, well-rounded pups who are adaptable, up for anything, suitable for many roles, and stable in temperament. Seeing them thrive is the most rewarding part 🥰🥰
