I LOVE weave guides! I teach weaves with channels and the guides added in right from the start as per teaching videos. This helps expose the dog to the guides at the start so they are used to seeing them.

Then any time in the future when we are working a new weave entry/exit/skill, I can just put the guides back on for a session to help speed up understanding and lower repetition and frustration. It has made weave training SO much more enjoyable for me and for my dogs (and my students, as I use these for them now too)!

This is the first time I’ve worked this angle from a running dog walk with Inky and you can see every rep from the session in this video. Quick understanding, quick fading, low reps!

If you’re time poor or just don’t like a lot of repetitions in training to get understanding, this is a tool I highly recommend adding to your toolbox!!

We will repeat this kind of session every few months until I feel she is completely independent with this kind of entry but I’m very happy with her first session!

Po has Monday-itis after a fun day of sniffing yesterday! 🐽

With basically 4 training sessions since last year’s trial, she managed 2 quallies and even a time of 0.12 minutes in the interiors element!

While I don’t have time to really embrace a second sport at the moment, its nice to dabble once a year and po enjoyed being the centre of attention for a day!
