Another great weekend of showing at the Annual Pekin Bantam Club of WA show and WA Silkie Club shows. The weather was a bit miserable but it was well worth the effort and getting a bit soggy.
Out of 10 pekins entered, only two didn't come home with a first or second card. In a show where I didn't expect to have anything place, I was really happy to have my birds seen as good enough for 1st or 2nd places against some really outstanding birds in each class.

The two silkies didn't do quite as well, but one of the girls picked up a 3rd place in her class and given I haven't kept silkies for a number of years, nor shown them I'm still quite happy with that!

Unfortunately, I didn't get many good pictures on the day. But here's one of Hector looking at me wondering why he's in a show pen.

Fermented feed - such a powerhouse for chicken health! I've been feeding fermented mash and grains for the past 8 months and have noted a huge improvement in my birds health, general attitude and feather quality. Looking forward to seeing how it impacts the upcoming breeding season.
