Did you know? The first dog you meet after landing in another country has a direct correlation with the quality of your trip overall? Luckily the first dog I met after landing at Heathrow on a recent visit to the Uk was the super cool Sonny. He’s a champ!

Photographing puppies individually can be alot of fun, but photographing a litter of puppies can be a little daunting for even the most experienced pet photographers!

I’m always pleased when dog owners have the foresight to organise a photography session with their ageing friend while they’re mobile and still keen for a walk when it’s suggested.

Realising that Titan was advancing in years, his humans booked in a session earlier this year while he was still active and looking like himself.

He brought his pal Clyde along, who we also photographed but those photos can wait for another day so Titan can have his moment in the spotlight.

With an early start on what was to be a warm day, we enjoyed several locations at the Sandringham dog friendly beach while it was still cool and before the crowds arrived.

With some lovely soft light and a little dew on the grass to give us some nice bokeh in the foreground we let Titan wander, then sit to watch whatever grabbed his attention in the distance.

Doggo was tucked up in bed on this occasion but it’s given me an idea for a dog photo at the next aurora showing. I just need to train him now! I’ll probably have more luck summoning the aurora australis!

First up is Hank. Hank is a Weimaraner. Hank is handsome. Hank loves treats.

If you're following this page, I already know you're smart! Unfortunately there are still a few numptys out there who think it's OK to leave a dog in a car on a warm day.

Yesterday evening, with an outside temperature of 32°c I spotted a small dog left alone in a car, getting more and distressed as the time went on.

After calling the local police station for assistance I was advised to call 000 for Fire Rescue Victoria.

Within 5 minutes of my call the owners arrived back to their car, taking off in a panic when they heard the approaching fire engine sirens.

The fireys arrived really quickly and were great about it but this really shouldn't be happening.

Keep your eyes peeled as we head into summer - we need to look out for the dogs that belong to the not-so-smart owners!
