🐀⚠️ RAT BAIT & YOUR PETS ⚠️🐶🐱

Rat bait can be extremely dangerous to dogs and cats, and even a small amount can cause serious illness or be fatal.

Some signs of poisoning may not appear for several days, so don’t wait for symptoms if you think your pet has eaten rat bait.

👉 Contact your vet immediately
👉 Bring the bait packaging if you have it
👉 Don’t induce vomiting unless instructed by a veterinarian
👉 Remember, eating a poisoned rodent can also pose a risk

👂 Is your pet constantly scratching their ears or shaking their head? 🐶🐱

Ear infections are one of the most common reasons dogs and cats visit the vet. They can be itchy, painful, and if left untreated, may lead to more serious problems or ongoing ear disease.

Keep an eye out for:
👂 Head shaking or ear scratching
👂 Red, swollen or painful ears
👂 A bad smell coming from the ears
👂 Brown, yellow or black discharge
👂 Sensitivity when the ears are touched
👂 Head tilting or loss of balance (in more severe cases)

Ear infections can be caused by allergies, yeast, bacteria, ear mites, grass seeds, or other underlying conditions, so it's important to have your pet's ears examined rather than treating them at home.

💙 The sooner an ear infection is diagnosed and treated, the quicker your pet can get back to feeling comfortable.

🐾 Does your dog's paws smell like corn chips or stale popcorn? 🌽👃

While many people think it's "just a dog smell," that ye**ty odour can actually be a sign of a yeast overgrowth on the skin.

Yeast loves warm, moist paws, and dogs with allergies, excessive licking, or damp feet are especially prone to developing these infections. Left untreated, they can become very itchy, sore, and uncomfortable.

Keep an eye out for:
🐾 Persistent licking or chewing of the paws
🐾 Red, inflamed skin between the toes
🐾 Brown staining from saliva
🐾 A strong, musty or "corn chip" smell

The good news? Yeast infections are very treatable—but it's important to identify and manage the underlying cause as well, especially if they're recurring.

UPDATE! Rosie has found a wonderful home!
🐾 Home Wanted for Rosie 🐾

We are helping one of our lovely clients find the perfect forever home for Rosie, a beautiful 7–8-month-old puppy (born 11 December).

Rosie's dad is a Cattle Dog, and her mum is a Staffy x Dachshund. She is a bright, energetic young girl who loves walks, chasing sticks and spending time with her people. Rosie is affectionate, loyal and enjoys being part of the family.

Rosie's owners have made the incredibly difficult decision to find her a home that is better suited to her needs. Rosie can display food-related guarding behaviours, so they feel she would be happiest and safest as the only dog in the home and in a household without young children. She would thrive with an experienced dog owner who understands canine behaviour and is committed to providing ongoing training, structure and plenty of physical and mental enrichment.

Rosie will come with her favourite chew toys and is ready to find her person who can give her the guidance, patience and love she deserves.
