Dearest Gentle Reader,

It seems our little brood has reached the tender age of seven weeks, and what a season it has been.

After a rather unexpected absence from the social pages due to matters of life keeping your humble correspondent quite occupied, we return with news of the highest importance.

Our seven young debutantes and gentlemen have now attended their most serious appointment yet: their veterinary examinations. And, much to everyone’s delight, each and every one has been declared in excellent health, passing their examinations with flying colours.

They have grown considerably since our last correspondence, with personalities emerging, confidence flourishing and mischief becoming increasingly difficult to conceal.

And now, Gentle Reader, comes the most interesting part…

Four of these charming young prospects remain available to secure their place in a forever home.

The first four portraits in this post are of the lucky individuals still awaiting their families.
Could one of them be the newest addition to your household?

Dear gentle reader,

Our little Bridgerton babies have officially reached 5 weeks old!

This week has been all about growing confidence, learning new things and discovering that bath time isn’t quite as dreadful as it might seem.

These little ones are doing so well with their baths and blow dries, taking it all in their stride and showing us just how adaptable they are. We’re so proud of how confidently they’re handling all their new experiences!

Dear Gentle Reader,

A most curious development has occurred within the Buckshot household…
The Bridgerton babies have turned four weeks old!

The nursery is no longer a quiet affair. There are now zoomies, wrestling matches, dramatic complaints when someone steals a sibling’s spot, and an impressive amount of tiny teeth being put to questionable use.

Our seven little lords and ladies are becoming proper puppies now, and their individual personalities are becoming impossible to miss. Every day we see a little more of who they are, who is bold, who is cheeky, who is cuddly, and who has already decided that rules are merely suggestions. 👑

They’re spending more time awake, interacting with each other, exploring their surroundings and keeping us thoroughly entertained. It’s amazing how much can change in just one week!

Four weeks is truly one of my favourite stages they’re still tiny babies, but you can finally start to see the little dogs hiding underneath all those puppy rolls and oversized paws.

Dear Gentle Reader,

One can scarcely believe it, but the young lords and ladies of Buckshot have now reached the grand age of three weeks.
Society whispers that this week's agenda is particularly eventful. The little debutantes and gentlemen shall be fitted with their very first big dog collars, a most distinguished look, if I do say so myself. They shall also attend their first grand feast of blended "big dog" cuisine, where impeccable table manners are... perhaps a goal for another week.

And, as every respectable member of society must eventually learn, the time has come for the earliest lessons in proper potty etiquette.

If Lady Buckshot may be permitted one small confession, this is secretly her favourite chapter of raising a litter.
This is when the magic truly begins.
The quiet little newborns transform into bold adventurers. Tiny tails wag with purpose, curious noses investigate every corner, and each puppy's unique character starts to unfold. The confident leaders, the mischievous rascals, the thoughtful observers, and the professional snugglers all begin to reveal themselves. It is impossible not to fall a little more in love with them each day.

The social season has only just begun, and I have no doubt these seven little members of the ton have many more scandals, adventures, and charming moments yet to share.

One thing that's really important to me as a breeder is raising and producing dogs with stable, clear headed temperaments.

Riptide has started coming to work with me at dog daycare (and I couldn’t be prouder of him), and while it's a great social outing, it's also a valuable opportunity for him to learn. He meets new dogs almost every shift different breeds, ages, personalities and energy levels.
What I want to see isn't a dog that has to greet every dog or play with everyone. I want a dog that can simply exist around others.

A good entire male, in my opinion, should be able to walk into a room full of dogs without fixating on them. He shouldn't be scanning the environment, posturing, over aroused or unable to switch off. He should be confident enough to acknowledge another dog and then move on.

That's the temperament I strive to produce and raise in my breeding program dogs that are thoughtful, biddable and emotionally stable. Dogs that can work, compete, adventure and relax without constantly being distracted by the dogs around them.
Of course, genetics are only part of the equation. Good breeding needs to be matched with good upbringing, training and positive experiences. That's why opportunities like this are so valuable for Riptide.
Because for me, temperament will always come before colour.
A sound mind is something you’ll appreciate every single day you own a dog.

Sometimes the sweetest moments are the quiet ones.

A basket full of sleepy puppies, warm little bellies, and tiny dreams.

Watching them grow each day is equal parts exciting and bittersweet. We blink, and they’re already bigger than they were when this was filmed.

We’re soaking up every precious moment while they’re still this little. 🤍
