What can we all do when the wild winter weather sets in and you don't fancy getting totally wet through to your un**es.......

That's right, set to and give your tack a good strip down & clean.

Make sure you check all those buckles and stitching well for wear & tear.

A weekly wipe over is okay if a wipe over daily isn't possible, but a good deep clean on a regular basis will keep your investment in good condition & you safe whilst enjoying riding your ponio.

I use Mycosorb with Tzar and find it makes a big difference to his way of thinking especially at this time of year and spring time when the new grass is coming up.

With the onset of rain and the still rather unseasonably warm days, don't forget to support your horse with a Toxin Binder.

Toxin Binders aim to reduce mycotoxin absorption and contribute to the control of mycotoxins. Toxin Binders absorb and lock up these toxins so that horse health can be maintained and they can be safely excreted without entering the bloodstream.

After a six years of blood sweat, tears, any many machinery breakdowns our new paddocks are finally ready for use. The work was all carried out by our 60 year old massey tractor, a mini excavator and many back packers helping to pick up sticks and rocks by hand. They are 5 x 4 acre paddocks. All have been purposely seeded with a variety of grazing oats, perennial rye grasses and clovers to create the perfect pasture mix for horses. We have left trees for shade on these hot days. This week some of our current agistees will be lucky enough to move in where the grass will be up to their bellies. I think they will be happy for a while. We have also left a 1.2 km exercise track around the outside of the paddocks.

Today marks a major achievement in the history of Antyk. After a few years work we have finally finished clearing 20 acres of natural bush and cleaning it all by hand. The whole job has been achieved with one 60 year old 185 Massey tractor, 1 mini excavator for 2 weeks and many many hours of walking and manual labour picking up sticks and rocks. The hard work is now done and over the next couple of months the ground will be ploughed and levelled and then seeded. Over winter the fencing and water will be done ready for the horses to move in next summer.
