My nearest and dearest know this to be very true about me, I’m sure they wont hesitate to confirm in the comments 😆

One half of me: up at 6am with a candle lit, doing mantras and the whole spiritual shebang. The other half: playing RnB music way too loud and swinging those hips in the kitchen.

Turns out I need both. The quiet bit in the morning steadies me. The loud, playful bit is where the joy lives.

On the weeks I skip either one, I feel it — everything gets a bit louder in my head and a lot harder to sit with.

So yes. Witch in the morning, menace whenever I get the chance. Balanced. 😌

📚1 in 3 Aussie kids isn’t hitting national reading benchmarks.

📉 But here’s the thing — the stats can’t measure whether a kid actually WANTS to read.

😮‍💨As all the tired parents of Australia know well, it’s Book Week and this year’s theme “Symphony of Stories” is all about finding new doorways into books.

💩🐍🐿️🐨 And for a lot of kids, that doorway is “ewww and cool” — not a spelling list ❌❌❌

So don’t stress about finding ‘the perfect’ book or panic about thier reading levels, just go grab some good reads that makes them laugh and sparks their interest… And if you can, sit down and read it with them 🫶🏽
