🐣 Easter Safety Reminder for Your Pets 🐰
Easter treats can be dangerous for our furry friends and here’s what to watch out for:
🍫 Chocolate Toxicity
Chocolate contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and cats. Symptoms can include:
• Vomiting & diarrhoea
• Restlessness or hyperactivity
• Tremors or seizures
The darker the chocolate, the more dangerous it is.
🍞 Hot Cross Buns (Raisins & Sultanas)
These can cause kidney failure in dogs, even in small amounts. Signs may include:
• Vomiting
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
⚠️ Foil Wrappers & Packaging
Chocolate foil, plastic wrappers, and packaging can be very tempting but dangerous. If swallowed, they can cause:
• Choking
• Gastrointestinal upset
• Bowel obstruction, which may require surgery
✅ Keep all Easter treats and wrappers well out of reach
✅ Remind kids not to share food with pets
🚨 If your pet eats chocolate, hot cross buns, or any wrappers, contact us immediately
