Karma and Bewitched completed their first endurance event for the season at Denison Creek two weeks ago. Both mares preformed in the 80kms as expected and advanced in their training.
We also are very happy with how they are conditioning on the CEN feed 😍

The rain we are having is fantastic but I think these ladies are better. These 3 beauties will be hitting the endurance tracks again this season. Each one is at a different level but the main goal is the same. Expand on their ability to relax in high adrenaline environments and gain more performance skill.

Continuing to follow young Lucy and Tex’s journey. Their partnership continues to blossom.
Late last year they were the overall winners of the SCOTS PGC Juvenile Rider Challenge at the Eastern Downs Branch ASHS Show 🏆
Receiving the ASHS Magazine last week, it was lovely to open up to see this great team featured in the national magazine 😍

Tex started the FHT program as a yearling. Once he had completed all the stages, matching him up with his next riding partner was the next challenge. Lucy has taken the up the role with assertion and ability. Looking forward for more to come!

It’s heating up 🔥 but the work does not stop! Life is a lot easier when the horses feel comfortable in their roles with us and their paddock mates. Shifting paddocks the other day and everyone played their part

Great feedback from the new owners of Smith Family Texas. Although he was purchased without a trial ride, we were able to see the new owner ride and coach via video. There is an excellent match between horse and rider, and the new owner is having a ball continuing his training.

Tex is an excellent example of a training formular that we like. We purchased him from the Toowoomba Supreme Sale as a led yearling where we could see that his temperament and handling allowed him to remain relaxed at one of the biggest events he would ever attend and that his conformation suited the competitions we enjoy.

The Toowoomba Supreme Sale includes an incentive competition where the yearlings are eligible to compete in a 2-Year-Old Challenge the following year. Tex performed willingly in the dry work pattern and the utility course which demonstrated that he could remain relaxed while being prepared for and ridden at a challenging event by a person that has enough skill to help the horse through this experience.

Allowing time off to grow out and for us to move to Rockhampton, Texas came back into work at the end of 2019 and continued the green horse phase of training.

Being able to advance through this stage included introducing him to many different riders and handlers. This was done in a mentored training environment where the capability of each rider or handler was matched with the training exercises that the pair where ready for. There was a focus on introducing Tex to situations that caused him to concentrate and then allowed him to relax which included working cattle and flying change training.

We enjoyed working with Tex and are proud to have played our part in his training. It is very rewarding to see Tex is making friends in his new home and continuing to make progress in his training.
