This weekend is the Western Classic Dog Show and Dog Sports weekend.
If you are interested in pure-bred, pedigree digs or in finding out what Dog sport you can participate in with your dog, then head down to Digs West in Southern River.

Entry is free. Food trucks on site.

Dear dogs of Perth, thank you all for using the pool at Fur Kidz Resort.
I have a favour to ask, could you please get your parents to watch our induction video, even if they've watched it previously. It seems some of them don't know our rules or have forgotten them.
We know you're shedding your beautiful coats at the moment. That means now, more than ever, scooping the hair out before you leave is important. Please remind your minions.
Same with your do-do, it needs to go in the poo bin, leaving it on the lawn, or bagged up on our fuse box or against a wall in the pool building is not appreciated.
So get your people, take 10 minutes and have a watch. That will ensure we all get fair use of the pool.

We love how excited some dogs get about swimming at Fur Kidz Resort. Horus, the Bull Terrier, takes it up a notch. He has his own chauffeur to bring him here and open the doors for him, the rest he does all by himself!!

We hope you enjoy watching Horus having fun and getting himself fit.

Dear customers, in recent weeks we have had a few customers leaving dog food in the pool (actually, in the bottom of the pool) and around the pool.
Please DO NOT feed your dogs in the pool area, for a number of reasons
1. Food causes chemical imbalances in the pool. It encourages the growth of bacteria and other pathogens.
2. your dog is exercising. Eating and exercise to NOT go together. It puts your dog at risk of choking, vomiting (not cool if it is in the pool), pooping (extra not cool) and possible gastric issues, including bloat (fancy a $5000 Vet bill??)
3. leaving left over food on the pool deck could cause issues for the next dog/s that come in.
4. our very expensive vacuum does not like it!
5. it can get all the way through to the filters and our heat pump (which is an expensive bit of kit). We will be unhappy if that breaks, so will your dogs.

It is common sense. You would never eat in a pool, neither should your dogs.

Final word is about training. Do yourself a favour, cut back on food rewards and work on better ways to engage with your dogs. A quick tug of war game (which you let the dog win), a well executed praise with your voice, and a pat. There is a place for food in training, but this is not when you do it. If your dog has trust issues, work on building trust before you start to swim your dog.

Shoveling food into people has never made them trust better or train better. Look at every athlete competing in sport, do you see them running around chomping on mars bars??? Do you see coaches running out and throwing M&Ms at their people? There is a very good reason for that.

Dear customers who swim at the pool
Can we please remind you of a few rules to the pool.
If you're early AND nobody is in the pool, you can go in early. But please be respectful of the time you have paid for. We don't mind about a few minutes but doubling your time in the pool is taking advantage.
Our dog bath is OFF Limits, it has ALWAYS been off limits. Our shampoos and conditioners are OFF limits. There is absolutely NO exception to this rule. The sign above the bath clearly states it!
The wash down bay outside is for rinsing your dogs off, not bathing them.
I am sorry that this post is necessary. Most of you do the right thing but for those who don't, helping yourselves to our products and using the dog bath or swimming for an hour when you've paid for 30 minutes is just rude and jeopardises your continued use of our facilities.
Please also remember that dogs go in through the front door and exit via the back door.

Dear Swimming pool customers, due to increased costs, associated with our booking system provider, we are unfortunately going to need increase our costs from Monday 19/08/2024.
We know how much you all enjoy the pool with your dogs and many of you are swimming them following what has been an already expensive journey into a healthy life.
Our philosophy has always been that the pool should be break even, not profit making. I hope you all understand, running the pool is quite an expense but we are still committed to providing a safe and affordable place for Perth people to get their dogs fit and well.
From Monday -
30 minute swims will increase from $20 to $25
60 minute swims will increase from $40 to $50

Vouchers will increase accordingly but we will honour vouchers purchased prior to Monday.

Get in before Monday and make some bookings in advance, this will save you some $$$

Dear Boarding kennel customers

From the 1/1/2024 our per night rate for boarding will increase to $33.00 per night.

Two dogs from the same household that can share a kennel will receive a $6.00 per night discount ($60.00 per night for both dogs*)

Dogs staying for longer periods will get a discount

stay 28 - 42 nights (5% discount)
stay 43+ nights (10% discount)

* if dogs do not get along in kennels they will be separated and the single rate will be applied

Swimming customers. If you wish to book a swim, please do so via our website at www.furkidzresort.com We do not take bookings over the phone or via Facebook.
The pool is open daily 9.00 to 5.00 but CLOSED Wednesdays.

NOTE The Pool will be closed from 27/5 to 17/6 inclusive

NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS. We will be taking a break from 25th May up to and including 16th June. We will not be taking boarders during that time and the pool will be closed.

Sorry for any inconvenience to you. We rely on the good will of others to get away and we cannot expect them to run everything for us. We hope you understand.
