🧙‍♂️✨ The search for Pink Floyd’s family of gnomes around Canberra has come to an end and we can finally reveal our part in the adventure!

At the front of the Canberra Reptile Zoo sat what was probably the most protected gnome of all… safely nestled amongst our goanna’s. 🦎💚

Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun , what a magical way to explore our city!

Did you know we have a YouTube channel? Most people don’t—because we’ve hardly used it. That’s about to change.

Today during one of our midday presentations with the kids from Noah’s Ark, Charlie, our saltwater crocodile, came charging out of his pond full of energy. A sudden change in the weather has him fired up and ready to eat… and we’re ready to share it with you.

📢 For the very first time, we’ll be LIVE streaming Charlie’s feeding tomorrow at around 1:30 PM!

We’ve never tried this before, so forgive us if the tech plays up—but we’re giving it a go, and you’ll get to see Charlie in action like never before.

Our Bearded Dragon and Western Australian Shingleback are taking it easy this morning — and we hope you are too!

One of the special things about life at the Reptile Zoo is that we can safely house different species together. Unlike at home, where you may not have the space or time to supervise them closely, our zookeepers are here all day, every day. That means if any issues arise, we can respond immediately.

Mixing species under careful supervision is actually a great form of enrichment. It allows us to show how animals that share the same environment use it in completely different ways — with some preferring the upper levels and others sticking to the ground.

Come on down, meet these chilled-out little guys, and don’t be shy — our zookeepers love having a chat and sharing more about the fascinating world of reptiles.
