Happy 8th birthday to Tim, our handsome alpha Barbary Sheep! You can spot him in our herd as he has the longest beard of the bunch due to his position as alpha 👑

Our herd includes a total of 7 sheep who are all named after wizards 🧙‍♂️. You can see Tim and his herd-mates Dumbledore, Merlin, Gandalf, Oz, Rafiki, and Jafar at 6Q on the zoo map 🗺️

The National Zoo and Aquarium today mourns the loss of Dr. Jane Goodall, a pioneer in the field of science, conservation and shaping our understanding of not only primates but all wildlife.

Jane’s endless dedication to educating and harnessing the power of young people has been a huge inspiration to our staff and volunteers here. We extend our condolences to Dr. Goodall’s loved ones and all those touched by her incredible legacy🕊️
