Despite a terrible weather forecast and cancelling the CDC tracking trial on Saturday 26th, we did it!! We pulled off CSSC's 27th July Tracking trial with great success!!
After a couple of sleepless nights worrying about the weather and the grounds, we got very lucky with a cold day with moments of both pouring rain and brilliant sunshine. All of the dogs and competitors were in high spirits and everyone came prepared for any weather, which we are super grateful for and resulted in a safe and enjoyable trial experience for everyone.
Out of 9 dogs and handlers competing on the day, we had 5 passes!
Congratulations to:
Marion and Lachie - Test 7
Kym and Torben - Test 2
Vino and Tara - Test 1
Karen and Quill - Test 7
Pam and Tilly - Test 3
Pass or not, everyone out their tried their hardest and I hope gained new experiences from the day.
We want to thank our lovely judges Julie McCombe (QLD) and Marion Leaver (NSW) for a wonderful day and for sharing feedback and their experience with our competitors. Big thanks to Julie for coming down from sunny Queensland to judge in the ACT winter and for sharing her experience and advice with us. Also, big thanks to Marion for stepping in as our back up judge when our planned judge called in sick. We are super grateful.
Also a huge thanks to our competitors, stewards and tracklayers who all stepped up to help out with the trial and made for a smooth running experience. Special thanks to those who were not competing but came to help; Jo, Christina, Jennifer, Sarah, Maria, Ludie and Jess. We'd be lost without you.
Thanks again to the Olsen family for the use of their property, with less and less land available that people are happy to share for tracking, this place is so special to us.
That's it from us for the tracking season this year, we are already looking forward to next year!!!
