Well we did! We caught the trains and we made the trial happen :) Thanks so much to our lovely judges - Sonja Needs, Elaine Temby and Donna Puttock. Lovely searches and I think everyone had fun taking on your challenges.

To everyone who stepped in and helped - a MASSIVE thank you! We couldn't have done it without you. There are too many of you to mention here but you know who you are and from the bottom of my heart I thank you for making my day so much easier.

Thanks so much to Rhonda Daley and Amanda Delaney from the club committee who did so much to make this day happen. Sadly Jo Washington-King wasn't with us today due to surgery.

We always couldn't have done it without the amazing Canberra Railway Museum .

Quallie cards have been sent via Showmanager.

Hope you all had a great time! Until next trial, happy sniffin!

Desperately needing more stewards! We need some timekeepers and search area stewards. Everyone who has already offered you are on my list :) Please help make this trial run smoothly!

I hear the trains are coming! We are on the lookout for drivers, guards, controllers and trackside workers :) All needed on Saturday 16 August.

Yes, you guessed it CSSC are looking for volunteers to help with stewarding. We are happy to take any and all help, and that includes those you can bribe to come along with you :D Here's your opportunity to help out our small club with our upcoming trial.

So let me know here if you can help, a little or a lot!

Friendly reminder to check your entries for the upcoming railway trial and make sure your entries are correct. If you have gained quallies recently and are no longer eligible to enter in a level please ensure you update your entries. There may be some spots available in some levels.

Likewise if you are unable to make the trial please make sure you withdraw your entries so those on the waiting list can fill your spot before entries close.

A reminder for all competitors, as you may be aware we have started sending quallie cards electronically. For you to receive your quallie card electronically via Show Manager you need to have your dog linked to the Dogs Australia database.

Thanks to the Dogs ACT SprintDog Team they have kindly shared a document they put together that outlines how to add a dog in Show Manager and how to make them a registry dog. You'll need to head on over to our members only group or the Canberra Canine Nosework group to view the document. Please take the time to review your dogs in Show Manager to ensure all details are correct and you can receive your quallie cards 🙂

Despite a terrible weather forecast and cancelling the CDC tracking trial on Saturday 26th, we did it!! We pulled off CSSC's 27th July Tracking trial with great success!!
After a couple of sleepless nights worrying about the weather and the grounds, we got very lucky with a cold day with moments of both pouring rain and brilliant sunshine. All of the dogs and competitors were in high spirits and everyone came prepared for any weather, which we are super grateful for and resulted in a safe and enjoyable trial experience for everyone.

Out of 9 dogs and handlers competing on the day, we had 5 passes!
Congratulations to:
Marion and Lachie - Test 7
Kym and Torben - Test 2
Vino and Tara - Test 1
Karen and Quill - Test 7
Pam and Tilly - Test 3

Pass or not, everyone out their tried their hardest and I hope gained new experiences from the day.

We want to thank our lovely judges Julie McCombe (QLD) and Marion Leaver (NSW) for a wonderful day and for sharing feedback and their experience with our competitors. Big thanks to Julie for coming down from sunny Queensland to judge in the ACT winter and for sharing her experience and advice with us. Also, big thanks to Marion for stepping in as our back up judge when our planned judge called in sick. We are super grateful.

Also a huge thanks to our competitors, stewards and tracklayers who all stepped up to help out with the trial and made for a smooth running experience. Special thanks to those who were not competing but came to help; Jo, Christina, Jennifer, Sarah, Maria, Ludie and Jess. We'd be lost without you.

Thanks again to the Olsen family for the use of their property, with less and less land available that people are happy to share for tracking, this place is so special to us.

That's it from us for the tracking season this year, we are already looking forward to next year!!!

My goodness this year has been busy! Our little club has put on lots of trials with more to come!!
Huge apologies for the delay but we had our first tracking trial of the year on June 15th at our new tracking grounds in Uriarra. It turned out to be a Melbourne kind of day with 4 seasons in one day!
Across 6 entries, we had 4 passes, one fail and one misadventure.
Congratulations to:
Jo Washington King with Adora - Test 2 Pass
Karen Hobson with Quill - Test 6 pass
Pam Lafferty with Storm - Test 1 pass
Pam Lafferty with Tilly - Test 2 pass

Jo Washington King was super close to passing her Test 1 with super Swift but a patch of loose ground and thicket resulted in a nasty fall and she was unable to continue. A huge disappointment for her but we look forward to seeing them reattempt soon.

Our next tracking trial is next week! Wishing all our competitors good luck and good weather.
