Mia's fitting

Mia has the very important job of taking care of beginner riders as they learn new skills. Understandably, new riders haven't yet learned how to keep their hands quiet and not accidentally pull on the horse's mouth, via the bit. A bitless option is a great idea to make Mia's job more comfortable for her, I'm very impressed with the level of kindness and thoughtfulness her carers give to her. What a lucky mare she is! And so pretty too 😍

When I first started designing bitless bridles, my horse was recovering from a paddock injury, which made it hard to test my attempts. Lucky for me, a lovely person was willing to give one a try, despite the lack of testing. So I braided it with great care, in her chosen colours and hoped she'd love it.
Many months have passed and my first customer came back with some feedback that I was happy to receive. I took some time to think about what she said, then asked her if I could have the bridle back to make some adjustments.
My own horse is now sound and I've tweaked things over time, based on what works best for my sensitive little mare and what works for me too. Looking at that first bridle, I've made many changes since that early attempt and could see what was needed to bring it up to scratch. Hopefully Red's owner will continue to love and use her bridle and let me know if she has any thoughts on how I could improve. Feedback is always welcome and appreciated!

I'm back from a long break
😀😀😀

My months long hiatus has been due to the one and only small project supplier of equestrian ropes (in Australia) being sold and the new owner making some decisions that deeply affected my ability to buy what I need, in order to keep my business going down my original track.

I've had to think long and hard as to whether this journey ends as fast as it began or whether I can make it work and find another way.

So in order to keep on keeping on, the changes I'm making are equal parts exciting and disappointing!

First of all, I will no longer be taking custom orders. I just don't have access to the same selection of colours, sizes and styles, so I will have to work with what I have on hand and let the pieces decide themselves 😄

The good news is, this means I can be a bit more free with my creativity and concentrate on perfecting my craft in my own time and space.

Due to price increases from the supplier, I will also have to pass those increases along. I will review and update my prices soon, after some careful consideration.

And finally some fantastic news! I have been working hard on creating course outlines and workbooks so that I can offer some rope working classes! I'm super excited to share my passion with the horse community in a fun and easy going environment. I'm not yet sure what this new project will look like or when it will happen as I'm still sorting out the fine details, so watch this space 😍
