A line up not to be missed at our Open Day on 1st November at 1 Victoria street, Hall 👌

Oooft. The emails have been rolling in and our suppliers' Open Day Specials are making me chomp at the bit and what's more - we're amplifying them.

We have got show stopping deals for Saturday 1st November and we hope to see you there. Oh, and did I tell you already that the coffee cart is locked in?! Yup. Free Coffee. You heard it here first.

From small starts, big things grow. Join us congratulating Charlotte 👏

Our Charlotte has been away from Canberra Stockfeeds - Powered by Neigh Hay the past couple of days filling her brain and notepads with innovation, ideas, processes, sales strategies so so much more.

Charlotte has been shortlisted in the top 10 young leaders in the Stockfeed industry throughout Australia. This program is very exciting as it not only connects her (and us!) to opportunities with suppliers but also connects us with fellow stockfeeds throughout Australia offering mentorship opportunities and a chance to share business ideas. This year they received the highest number of applicants since the program’s fruition in 2012!

The next step of this “Young Guns” program is to design an innovative event involving sponsors to bring our community together - watch this space, it’s going to be a goodie 🤩

Do you ever feel overwhelmed with all the feed advice you get for your horse?

You rock up to your Agistment centre and you’re making up your horse’s feed and a fellow agistee walks past and says “oh you should try XYZ feed, it’s literally transformed my horse”. You’re in a dressage lesson and your instructor suggests you try XYZ supplement to build your horse’s top line. Your horse is starting to drop condition and your friend recommend 3 different feeds that you should mix together to “bulk him up”. Your horse is spooky and the person you’re riding with recommends a calming paste that “changed her horse”. You’ve got a metabolic horse and your aunty recommends that you feed “white hay and chaff”. Ever been here? I know I have.

That’s where our next Neigh Night comes into its own. We’ll be hosting Sophie from Integral Equine Nutrition where she will be talking you through the nutrition basics to help you build a healthier horse. She’ll help you understand basic nutrition principles and arm you with knowledge to help make the right decisions when you’re in the situations listed above. So what’s this B Grade teff about? Well, it’s tested, it’s low sugar and it’s clean, but it’s not as green as our A Grade and the stems aren’t as fine. Is it palatable? Yep, for normal horses it is, but if you have a fussy Queen - order what you know 👌

This condition can be distressing for both horses and owners, so we're excited to host Dr. Raquel Butler from Integrated Veterinary Therapeutics for an informative Neigh Night: "Stringhalt: Rehabilitating the Nervous System."

Dr. Butler will delve into the causes of stringhalt, immediate actions to take, and crucial rehabilitation strategies. Even if you think your horse is safe, this presentation is invaluable – with horses, you never know what might happen.

Her expertise includes a Post Grad Diploma in Animal Biomechanical Medicine, a Bachelor of Science (Hons), and a Grad Cert in Learning & Teaching in Higher Ed. She has also studied numerous bodywork modalities and been mentored by Dr. Sharon May-Davis.
