How cute are Xena & Val! 🐾 These two little munchkins recently came into the clinic as strays. Luckily, their microchips were up to date, and we were able to reunite them with their owners quickly 💕
If you find a stray cat or dog roaming, it’s best to contact your local council for collection to help prevent any accidents or injuries. Alternatively, if you’re able to safely secure them, you can bring them into a vet clinic so their microchip can be scanned and we can help reunite them with their owner 🏡
If you do secure a stray, keep them in a quiet, contained area away from your own pets until they’ve been checked. Avoid feeding unfamiliar food where possible, as it may upset their stomach or worsen any underlying conditions.
To help prevent your own pets from roaming, ensure fences and gates are secure, keep dogs on a leash when out and about, and consider keeping cats indoors or providing a safe outdoor enclosure. Regularly checking ID tags and keeping microchip details up to date can make all the difference in a quick reunion 🐶🐱
Is your furry friend’s microchip up to date? If you’re not sure, feel free to pop into the clinic and one of our friendly team members can do a quick check for you 💙
