ππ ABOUT ME: ππ
I have been riding horses since I could walk, as I was born into the life of horses.
My father was a fully qualified farrier having trained in the US. Dad was a hugely successful farrier having shod many Melbourne Cup runners and well known trotters.
My mother has herself had many years of success both Show Jumping and in the Eventing scene. Competing against the likes of NZ Andrew Nicholson, Andrew Bennie, John Cottle, Louisa Hill and Mark Todd's famous horse Charisma. Mum is also a successful dressage and barrel racer having also trained her own horses through the levels. Both mum and dads current focus is on breeding quality warmblood Dressage, Jumping and Event horses.
My younger brother currently works as a track rider and horse breaker in the NZ racing industry. He is also a very talented and sucessful bull rider, bronc rider and team roper.
I myself do not specialise in any one genre of horsemanship. I grew up going through Pony Club, representing our PC in various Eventing teams. I have successfully trained my young green broke pony's to 1.20 from age 12 and successfully trained and competed my own horses from green broke to level 4 dressage. I also qualified and competed in NZ Horse of the Year am an NZ Open Barrel Racer on my home trained horse and finished 3rd NZ Rookie of the Year. I train all my own barrel racing horses. In 2013 I started competing in team roping on our well loved family horse however, we unfortunately lost him in an paddock accident. As a result I have never taken roping back up again. Recently in the last 3 years I have taken a shine to campdrafting, which I thoroughly enjoy and am hoping to gain more experience.
I have trained under NZ's top Grand Prix Dressage Rider Vanessa Way and 11 x World Barrel Racing Champion, Charmayne James.
