If you have an order, thought you'd suspended, you did the wrong week. It must be paid before pick up. The system automatically charges twice and automatically sends emails letting you know if payment declined. There is a $5 recharge applied on the third attempt as it's manually processed and this fee goes to paying someone to manually process the payment. Please don't ask for this payment to not be applied. ORDERING SYSTEM - dead simple. You share boxes online using the App. It’s OPT OUT system so if you don’t want an order you MUST suspend an order BEFORE Order Creation otherwise you’re in the Order. When you tick the date, wait, it will turn red to confirm suspension. You’re expected to order weekly or fortnightly. STARTING ORDER:
There’s a Starting Order based on your weekly ‘wish list’ VOTE and you can take out up to 3 things. Every week BEFORE Order Creation do a Wish List Vote to help Hubster (person who organisers Hub) to set up Starting Order. WANT MORE? SHARE BOXES known as SPLITS

If you wish more you join Splits or share boxes. You can suggest a Box to share or your Hubster (the person who runs the Hub). Like saying to your group: “Who’d like to share a box of apples?”

At order cut-off you pay automatically online (Visa or Mastercard & Secure Eway Payment gateway) then boxes from growers & food wholesalers come to the Hubster house for packing. You pick up from their place. FRUIT VEG Bread Eggs Order pay get this week

GROCERIES Order pay get next week due to fresh roasting of coffee, packing of goods on order. BREAD baker direct – Minimum HUB order Total must reach $30

GROCERIES wholesaler direct – Minimum HUB order total must reach $75. READ THE AMOUNTS YOU ARE PURCHASING
Check carefully if the items is single, handfuls, 500gm, 1 kg etc. Don't assume it's by one item. EXAMPLE: Cherries sold by the box. Don;' put in 5 thinking it's handfuls when it's boxes. Read the descriptions please. EXTRAS - there are ALWAYS extras as the box belongs to members so your Hubster will divvy extras when available. Also there is usually a SWAP box - if you forget to customise your Starting Order. You can throw in some apples and take out some carrots. You will get great value. COMMUNITY BOX - Many Hubsters ask members if this SWAP BOX can become a COMMUNITY KINDNESS BOX given to a family in need. This is part of the Social Enterprise experience by being part of the Hub. NOT WANT AN ORDER? There are no contracts, you can cancel orders when you don’t want them. WANT EXACTLY 1 tomato 2 oranges? Then Box Divvy is not for you. This is a coop and things are in handfuls NOT exact items. You need to be flexible but you'll always get good value. We are a group of community minded people wanting to change the food system. Reduce packaging and pay our farmers fairly. By reducing our carbon footprint by 90% this means we buy in bulk as a group and then share it. We need to be a bit flexible. You will know roughly what you will get but you can’t get exactly. We have a Packing Guide but the numbers will change as produce is smaller or larger. Mostly you will get extras overall. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT I SPEND? EASY. You will pay the STARTING ORDER PLUS if you join in SPLITS or ADD Groceries. At the bottom of MY ORDER you will see the MAX you will pay if all your SPLITS get over the line, any groceries you’ve ordered plus Starting Order . You can reduce the SPLITS or Groceries you joined BEFORE CUTOFF. PACKAGING

Much of the produce comes loose so do provide your Hubster with a NAME LABELLED BAG: ALSO - calico/wash nets to put handfuls in (do not expect your Hubster to provide paper bags please): Bring in your old icecream containers for the Hub to put soft stuff in. If you get an item in plastic recycle it in your soft plastic bin. We don't interrupt the packing from farmer to you so manage this please. Farmers are trying to work out how to transport produce and it can’t always be plastic free - for the moment. The Sugar Cane bags are not strong, don't last and definitely not airtight. Cardboard and paper fall apart. New technology is being worked on. NOT FOR ME
If after you’ve tried it and Box Divvy is not working the way you want then you can cancel membership. So? Join our group to make a difference. You have the power to do so. Cut your food bill significantly – Wow! The goal: to cut your food bill, without compromising on the quality, freshness and variety of food. With minimal effort, minimal packaging and food miles, and still paying farmers and suppliers a fair price for their produce.

Ok here is the....
Market Update

This is the first week in a long time when we can say: the market has returned to some level of normality. Sure, there are still a few pricey produce lines – there are always some – but by and large, this is looking like a benign market in terms of supply and demand.

Best options in fruit:
• We have some good passionfruit - a hybrid variety of Panama - that's full of juice and pulp
for 75c each

• Afourer mandarins have taken over from Imperials: they're under $3 a kilo, or $19.50 for a whole box (9kg)

• Cara Cara oranges have been amazing: around $2 a kilo, or $14 for a 9-kg box

• New season blood oranges - dark red, taste like a forest in autumn, still a little over $3 a kilo - but expected to drop below $2.50 over the next few weeks.

• Seedless watermelon has been excellent - small (well, sort of: 4-5kg), whole melons for under $10 each. We've seen them in supermarkets for $23......

• Jumbo 500g punnets of strawberries from QLD for under $6

• Royal Gala apples are in surprisingly good supply this time of year: around $3.60 a kilo.

And to top it off: new season Kensington Pride Mangoes from Darwin are just starting. Large fruit size 16's at $6.49 each, and they will be at that price for at least a month. Last season was a slow starter: prices didn't start dropping until early October!

• Rockmelons, honeydew melons, kiwi, tangelo, grapefruit and lemons are all good value – but bananas and papaya are still dear, other berries are waiting for warm and dry weather in QLD (blueberries are very scarce), and pears are starting to tighten up a little.

With the cooler days, it's so lovely to have something simmering on the stove. I've had sickness in my home for a little while, so I decided it was time for chicken soup. Theres no before photos,I forgot...lol.
I made the stock with chicken bones, Carrot, celery, garlic ( lots of), onion, herbs. Let it simmer for a couple of hours..
Then slowly sauteed carrots, celery, onion, more garlic, until it was soft and sweet.
I removed everything from the stockpot except the liquid. Added chicken and the sauteed vegetables and egg noodles.

And it was so delicious. Even fussy Mr 12 who screwed his nose up, eventually tried it, loved it, and also had some for dinner. That's a win..

Our members select each item that i pack into their order. This means that each order looks different. Lots of small mum and dad Aussie businesses get our support.

We use less packaging, you will see most items go into orders loose. Saving the planet, one order at a time.

Take a look at these orders, see if you can find a few different brands.

Hunter Valley Free Range Eggs

Now that Australia has been declared free from bird flu, egg prices have been slowly coming down. Perhaps too slowly, because there’s a big overhang on the market – and they must be sold. So Hunter Valley Eggs have agreed to a one-week price drop to $6.92 a dozen. That’s 17% off. What’s more: they will be jumbo 800g eggs, so you better scramble. This week only.
And remember: Hunter Valley Eggs has one of the lowest stocking densities in the industry: just 950 hens per hectare.

Theres lots going on in the market at the moment. Take a look at these great buys.

Winter produce can be so good. This is the week of large produce.

Which of these would you like to eat today? The apples are incredible. Yes, I did share one with the family.

📣 How much are you really paying for fresh food? 🥦🍎

I just did a little side-by-side comparison of what we get in our Box Divvy hub vs the major supermarkets... and honestly, the difference is shocking. 😳

✅ Box Divvy produce is fresher (straight from Aussie farmers, not sitting in a warehouse)
✅ At least 30% less cost than larger supermarket chains
✅ Minimal plastic and packaging
✅ And best of all — we support aussie growers

🧾 Check out the chart below to see the real cost difference.
💰 The savings really add up — especially if you're feeding a family.

If you’ve been wanting to:

🍎Eat better
🍎Spend less
🍎Waste less
🍎Support local…

This might be exactly what you’ve been looking for. 💚

We’ve got a few spots left in our hub — feel free to message me or comment below if you want the link to check it out or join!
