Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre

Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre (CTRC) is a volunteer organisation rehabilitating sick and injured marine turtles and running education programs.

Here at CTRC our mission "Protecting and promoting the conservation of marine turtles" serves as the guiding principle and therefore underpins the aims and objectives of our organisation. Our aims and objectives include the following:

- Do all that we can to rehabilitation sick and injured turtles in our care
- Endeavor to provide assistance, where required or requested, in efforts to rescue tu

rtles in distress
- Share our knowledge in the interests of turtle rescue, rehabilitation and research
- Endeavour to raise awareness of issues faced by marine turtles through positive publicity and teaching
- Help to promote humane and sustainable practices through co-operation and education
- Seek to positively influence Government Policy relating to turtle conservation and the marine environment

A huge thank you to Trinity Beach Sports Club for the wonderful fundraiser. It is suporters such as the spirts club that allows CTRC to continue rescueing, rehabilitation and release of sick and injured turtles.

This Sunday we will be at the Cairns Ecofiesta, Munro Martin Park, 10am - 4pm. Come along and meet our volunteers on our stall and check out the items we will be selling. There are lots of interesting stalls and food trucks so come along for a great day of fun and laughs.

The book Miss Coleen is reading to these students is a true story about a turtle rescued by Cairns Turtle Rehab and eventually released back to the ocean. You can purchase these books from us at our market stalls and various other outlets around Cairns. If you can't find one you can message us and we will arrange to get one to you. Cost $27.50 plus $7.95 postage.

Come down to the Pier Markets this Sunday, 18 May. 9am - 2pm. Cairns Turtle Rehab. Centre will have a stall there. Come along, say hello to the volunteers and check out the merchandise they have for sale. Always a great time for everyone at these Markets. See you there.
