Don’t be sussssssssspicious 🐍
Ahhhhhh seriously, thank God it was a non venomous python, but sssssserioussssslyyyyy it’s HUGE 🙀
I was on the phone and all of a sudden heard Luna bark, but it wasn’t so much her bark, but her body language + the bark… 🤔
Her body language was rigid, stiff and on alert, and she never really barks that much so I just KNEW something was off… 😬
I ran whilst on the phone, and when I turned the corner I seen this BIG boy or girl, and Luna was circling it… 🫨
Luna 🐶 is such a smart girl, she was so very close to it, and all I could do was call her, tried hard not to yell, because well Adrenalin and ummm hello my job is to look after the animals… 😅
I eventually lowered my body, crouched down, softer tone of voice, got to a high pitch and called her, she just kept circling it, yet I knew if I went toward her/ the snake, she would go into protective mode (learnt that from experience with my boy Rambo 🐕)
So trying to make me sound more fun to Luna then the snake, I started being silly, playing and eventually she came, and my gosh did I grab her swiftly… 😅
Popped Luna inside, and came back out to keep an eye on it, I then realised, this morning the possums in the roof were carrying on, and thought this must be why (they live in that corner of the roof)… 🏰
So I watched, whilst Luna watched from the far left corner window and then when the snake had slithered into and under the bbq nook I assumed it was still on the ground… 🤨
I do like the saying - NEVER ASSUME, because you will make and Ass out of You and Me… whoops 🙈
Still on the phone realising that it had actually climbed up and was on the bench grill between the bucket and grill WATCHING ME 😳
I thought I was watching it, but it was watching me… AHHHHH 🤯
Seriously, they’re so smart, and I’ve loved being out here, out of sight, out of mind, not complacent but happy knowing they are here, but not near me, ya know? 😆
So after that I thought cool I’m going inside and sat with Luna we watched from the window together, and eventually it slithered off somewhere, probably back in the roof because there’s been quite a bit of movement up there since 🫥
Anyway, all the chickens, ducks, Guinea fowl, Luna and me are safe, the snake not harmed either… 🫶
I am now walking around with a new walking shovel just in case…
Although this one was right at the front door… Thank God I keep it shut 👋🏻🚪
