With all this wet weather, grass is growing rapidly—and that means more grass seeds that can cause problems for your furry friend! These sharp, barbed seeds can get stuck in your dog’s fur, paws, ears, nose or even eyes! Once embedded, they can migrate deeper into the skin, causing painful infections and abscesses. 😢

Paralysis ticks are a real and ongoing threat to our pets here in Far North Queensland. 🌿 These tiny pests can cause 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦 and in some cases, they can even be fatal. As the rain increases, the risk of paralysis tick exposure increases, so it’s super important to 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Common clinical signs of tick paralysis in dogs include:

- Weakness in the back legs 🦵
