Today’s patient is serving as a reminder that ticks are still very much out and about and it’s not the time to drop back on your preventative.

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is that tick prevention is only important during “tick season”. Here in Queensland, paralysis ticks can be a risk all year round.

If you’re not sure whether your pet is protected, or you’d like to learn more about the options available (including the annual tick prevention injection), give us a call. We’d much rather help you prevent a tick problem than treat one.

This little old lady was brought into the clinic this morning after being found wandering. She does have a microchip, however unfortunately it is not registered, so at this stage we have no way of contacting her owners.
