Busselton Veterinary Hospital

Busselton Veterinary Hospital Busselton Vet is veterinary practice with a difference. We love the fact that our clients include us as part of their family! That's our ultimate goal!

Located in a purpose built hospital at 60 Bussell Hwy, Busselton we are a veterinary business with a difference. We pride ourselves on communication (both with you and your pet). We take the time to get to know you and allow time for your pet to get to know us. We allow longer consulting times so we have time to fully examine your pet and make a healthcare plan tailored to your pets needs. We are

the first regional WA ASAVA accredited "Hospital of Excellence" which means that you are getting the best treatment options for your beloved companion in a first class facility. Our mission is to keep your pet as healthy/happy as we can so you can have them in your life for as long as possible.

A very Hoppy Easter to our furry friends (and their humans)! ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ

Easter Bunny Ava would like to remind everyone that many of the delicious treats around at this time of year can make dogs and cats very sick. These include:

Hot cross buns with raisins or sultanas ๐Ÿ‡
Chocolate (in any shape!) ๐Ÿซ
Please make sure your pets cannot access your Easter snacks. Benches and countertops may not be a safe place! And, make sure you track down ALL of those chocolate eggs the Easter Bunny hides.

Accidents happen - in case of emergency over the long weekend, simply ring us on (08) 9752 1433, and you will be diverted to our emergency triage service. Afterhours fees may apply.

To keep the fun going and avoid some unnecessary stress this Easter, keep those snacks safe, and have a Bun-derful long weekend!

If you have been into the clinic lately you will have noticed the new catio we have now in our courtyard. Build through partnership with GeoCatch, the catio is to help us promote responsible cat ownership. (Obviously we will not be putting our patients in there ๐Ÿ™‚)

Keeping cats inside and/or confined on your property not only protects our native wildlife but can prevent many injuries that we see in our feline patients. A catio is a great option to allow your cat to safely enjoy outdoor life but gives you the peace of mind that they will remain safe.

Feel free to stop in anytime to check it out.

๐Ÿ˜บ๐ŸพNew Catio on the Block!๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜บ

Check out the regionโ€™s first-ever onsite catio, installed at Busselton Veterinary Hospital, proudly built by local legends South West Cat Enclosures๐Ÿ˜บ๐ŸŒฟin collaboration with GeoCatch.

This custom-designed space provides a safe, enriching outdoor environment for the vet hospital's feline patients โ€” helping reduce stress and promote natural behaviour.

This innovative catio also aims to educate cat owners about the many benefits of catios โ€” not just for cats, but also for protecting local wildlife.

๐ŸฑBeautiful cool cats will be exploring the catio soon โ€” follow us for behind-the-scenes updates and sneak peeks!
๐Ÿ˜ปStay tuned โ€“ โ€˜Cool catsโ€™ by local artist Carol Mulhearn is coming soon to add an extra touch of feline flair to the space!

3 Way After-Hours Rostering

We would like to thank all our wonderful clients for their understanding about our previous shared after-hours agreement with Vasse Vets. This has been running very successfully to cover our patientsโ€™ needs as well as giving all of our Vets an improved outlook on life!

In the last few months, we have also been in discussions with Dunsborough Vet Hospital, and they will join us and Vasse Vets on a weekend after-hours rota starting in November. This after-hours arrangement runs from 1pm Saturday afternoon to 8am Monday morning, on a 3 week rotating basis.

If one of the other hospitals is on-call then you will have to travel to their hospital, but Iโ€™m sure that you will agree that this is a small price to pay for the mental health of so many Vets in our area.

Thank you so much for your understanding and your continued partnership in having happy and healthy animal companions.

Dr Richard is looking forward to joining Dr Felicity Bradshaw to present information at this session for volunteers wildlife carers in our local area the weekend. We are grateful to be able to help our n local wildlife especially our beautiful Western Ringtail Possums

If you are a wildlife rehabilitator working with possums, First Aid for Possums is for you.

This training opportunity will bring local wildlife rehabilitator groups together to ensure all groups have access to the same current first aid procedures, information, and knowledge. It is also an excellent opportunity for networking between groups working towards common goals.

โ€œHaving the training delivered by local vets with local knowledge is of great importance to the survival of possums and other native wildlifeโ€ says WRAG member Jo Kennedy from Dunsborough Busselton Wildlife Care.

FAWNA wildlife rehabilitator Suzanne Strapp is looking forward to sharing knowledge with experts in the field of native animal rehabilitation.

โ€œLocal vets are dealing with injured possums all the time and are best positioned to share their expertise and experience with volunteer wildlife rehabilitators. This will give the critically endangered Western Ringtail Possum the best chance of survival after injury or illness,โ€ said Suzanne.

We had these little cuties Ony & Nert in this morning for their first vet check up. They were superstars. Dr Kerri and nurse Lisa gave them a thorough examination. They even got some pampering with a pedicure. Thankyou to their owners for sharing these pictures with us.

We want to give handsome Henry a big Busso Vet shout out for being a superstar and donating his blood for a sick patient last week.

Thankfully we don't often need to do blood transfusions however it is vital that we have dogs like Henry willing to put a paw up an volunteer when we do. Thank you to Henry's owners for bringing him in.
