Merry Christmas to all our fabulous clients & their beloved pets💜
We hope you all your hopes & dreams come true 💜

Yesterday sadly was the end of an era for me at Soaked to the Bone Dog Grooming.
After 10+ years I put my clippers away & closed my doors to the public 😢

It’s been a tough year but we survived!

This morning I graced the hospital with my presence & braved my hand surgery under local anaesthetic 🙄 something I never thought I’d do.
This time, my left hand had decided sometime ago it would like to give me grief, I tried cortisone injections a couple of times, but alas the 2nd round didn’t work.
After getting a lovely chomp on my wrist a few months ago by a very large dog causing more pain & damage to my already failing hand it was time to visit my favourite surgeon again!
So off I went this morning to have my hand fixed 😊 6 weeks recovery….No cooking Christmas dinner for me or washing Christmas dishes 🎉🎉
I still require surgery on my right hand again very soon.

We discussed it for a while & I decided if I’m getting my right fixed again & also having my left fixed that I would no longer be clipping 20+ dogs a week.
Sadly the decision was made to close my door 😢

We have met some truly beautiful dogs over the years & made some wonderful friends & we will miss you all 😢
But it’s time for me to take care of me!
I guess I have to get a normal everyday job 😂

Many thanks to all our clients for your understanding of late xx
It's been a little difficult trying to keep up with everything at home!
I know some of you have had to look elsewhere for your appointments & I'm glad you were able to get squeezed in elsewhere.
Thankyou for your patience & your understanding.

I know that everyone is pretty well booked solid, it's been a tough year for most of us due to Ill health, surgeries, dog bites, the dreaded covid.

There's one thing that I'm extremely upset about & that's the abuse over the telephone when I have not got an appointment available for your dog. It's not my fault or any other groomers fault that you left getting your dog groomed until the last minute. (I understand that are sometimes extenuating circumstances as to why you have not had your dog groomed)
We don't deserve the abuse!!

I'm sure I speak for many when I say that we need to look after ourselves mentally & physically before we can look after you, I love my job but it can be a tough gig at times! In the past year I've had 5 dog bites that have caused damage & our family as well as many local groomers have been through a lot this year.
I have a salon policy that if your dog bites & causes damage...it's not welcome back sorry.

Their are some amazing puppy classes for dogs, teaching you to teach your dog, obedience & that its ok to be touched, visit the vet or the groomer 🤩

Remember to book your appointments early & schedule them on a regular basis when you pick up your dog.

I've had alot of enquiries lately to groom/shave matted cats....
I don't do them sorry

They both groom cats, I'm pretty sure Brenda at Ulverstone has been known to tackle a bunny or a Guinea pig or 2 🤣 (she will probably throttle me now 🤣🤣)

Unfortunately this is where I tell you all I'll be winding down my hours even more next year in the salon. I'll be concentrating more on Granny's Groomery
I need to have more surgery on both of my hands again & I said if I ever have to do it again that will be the day I don't groom anymore 😲

Good Morning All,

I just wanted to let you all know that things are quite hectic at the moment, Damian had major surgery last week & he is going to be out of action for quite sometime.
I’ve had to cancel some appointments & im going to have to cancel some more. I will reschedule them all as soon as I can but I can’t guarantee it’s going to be any time soon sorry.
Please check your appointment times as I’ve not even found the time to send text reminders sorry. If you have not heard from me, it’s safe to say it’s ok to bring your dog but they may be here for longer than usual.

I’m so sorry for any inconvenience but unfortunately I just cannot be in the salon all day over the next few weeks.
If you wish to try to get your dog groomed elsewhere, please try Sam Doggy Hair Doos Dog Grooming - Wynyard but I think Sam is quite busy as well as his mum Fran is also unwell & their Burnie Salon is Closed.
Lynne at Wynyard Hydrobath and Dog Grooming may be able to help, you also have Nina's Groom Room, Enviro Dog Grooming Salon & Cottage Dog grooming.

At this time, I am unable to take on any new client appointments as well, I’m tired from just trying to keep up with everything that’s going on sorry.
