Training a deaf dog is honestly so much fun.
It makes you think outside the box and become incredibly clear with your communication.

I’ve been working with Minty for a few weeks now and recall is something that’s super important… but how do you build recall when your dog can’t hear you?
We build a physical cue paired with a clear visual signal 👇🏼
1️⃣ Gentle bum poke + hand gesture
2️⃣ Light collar taps + hand gesture

The goal is to condition the touch to mean “look at me”, then layer in the visual cue for “come”.
Deaf dogs don’t lack ability, they just need different communication.
