Misty made it! 🙌 After protecting her family from a big brown snake she was pretty sick. She couldn’t clot her blood. With brown snake antivenin, a blood transfusion, and plasma transfusion she is on the mend.

Calves bring lots of happiness and are adorable but they need help to keep them growing strong. If you don’t have great pasture coverage at present make sure you are supplemental feeding expecting and new mummy cows. Then when they give birth they are in the best condition so complications are fewer and they have the energy to keep feeding the baby so it gets the best start.

Out on the farm again. It’s important to make sure your cattle are getting regular vaccinations. In our area we recommend 7in1 to protect our cattle from the common preventable diseases we see round here. Particularly, blackleg, tetanus and leptospirosis are being an issue at the moment.

If you can’t the talk to the nurses to determine the best option for you.

And in case you haven’t heard. There is now a very safe annual injection for fleas and ticks which is cheaper than a years supply of tablets if they are under 20kg!
