🍪 Queen Oreo 🍪

Oreo waltzed into the clinic like she owned the place (because… obviously she does) for her annual royal treatment — vaccine, heartworm injection, blood test, and a little arthritis sparkle shot. 💉✨ Because when you’re a queen, you don’t just age… you age luxuriously. 👑

With the cold creeping in, her majesty was feeling a little stiff — but don’t worry, her loyal humans have her on a first-class wellness program. Only the best for this biscuit. 💅🐾 We love a pet parent who treats their girl like the queen she is. 👑

Next mission? Dropping a bit of that winter fluff — not just for the looks (she’s flawless), but to keep those fabulous joints in full strut mode. You do you, Oreo. Run the world, but with less knee creaks. 💃❄️

Any questions about arthritis, annual check ups or weight, please give us a call on 38000369 ☎️

“My dog doesn’t like males.”
Challenge accepted. 💅🐾

Sweet staff pet Willow was a little nervous when in with us recently so one of our vets agreed to take drastic measures to win her over. Let’s just say it involved a costume change and a serious commitment to the role. 🎭😂

There were many laughs during and after the making of this video — Willow was impressed, and honestly, so were we. 👏

On a more serious note, we totally understand vet visits can be stressful for some pets. That’s why we offer:
🌿 Fear-free techniques
😌 Light sedation when needed
🐶 A team who’s always ready to get creative

Because we want your pets to love seeing us as much as we love seeing them! 💖🐾

Say hello to the handsome Dollar! This gorgeous spotty boy came in for his annual vaccination and completely stole the spotlight while he was here. ✨🐾

With those charming looks and sweet personality, it’s safe to say he was worth every cent! 😉💚

🐾 Coco 🐾

Sweet little Coco came in recently for her 2nd puppy vaccination and melted everyone’s hearts! 🥹🐶 She was such a brave little superstar and gave us all the tail wags and cuddles.

We can’t wait to see her again soon for her final puppy vacs — we just know she’ll have grown even more adorable (if that’s possible!) 🤍✨

We Understand Your Grief—Because We Feel It Too

Beautiful Milo, a gentle greyhound with a soft soul, was recently laid to rest after being diagnosed with an osteosarcoma (boney cancer) in his shoulder. While some pets experience a disease trajectory of gradual deterioration over time, as with chronic conditions like osteoarthritis, others diseases cause a much more rapid deterioration. This was the case for Milo, and once his pain could no longer be adequately managed, his devoted owner—our friend and colleague Cassie—made the heartbreaking but courageous decision to say goodbye. Milo was deeply loved, and Cassie's selfless choice ensured his final moments were filled with comfort, dignity, and peace.

Cassie's dog Willow is slowly adjusting to the loss of her beloved companion, but some old separation anxiety has begun to resurface. Just like people, dogs can grieve deeply—often showing signs such as anxiety, withdrawal, restlessness, or changes in appetite.

🐾✨🐾✨🐾✨🐾

Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking. As your veterinary team, we want you to know that we don’t just witness your grief—we feel it too.

We’ve cared for your pets as if they were our own. We’ve cuddled them during exams, cheered them through recovery, and whispered gentle words during their final moments. When we say goodbye to a patient, we feel that loss deeply. It stays with us.

But we also know this pain firsthand.

Every one of us has loved and lost a pet of our own. We’ve walked through the silence after they’re gone. We’ve cried at empty food bowls and missed the jingle of collars. We’ve made that impossible decision with breaking hearts.

So when you’re grieving, please know you’re not alone. We understand your sorrow not just professionally, but personally. Your grief is valid. Your pain is seen. And your pet was loved—by you, and by us.

🐾✨🐾✨🐾✨🐾

Please call us on 3800 0369 if you are having any concerns about a pet following the loss of their companion.

🦇 Important Pet Health Alert: Bat Contact & Lyssavirus Risk in Brisbane

The rare but deadly Australian Bat Lyssavirus (ABLV) has now claimed four lives in Australia — highlighting the importance of public awareness.

In Brisbane, bats can carry this deadly virus, which is similar to rabies, and can affect both humans and animals. If your dog has been scratched, bitten, or even mouthed a bat, urgent veterinary care is needed.

🔍 What to do if your dog has had contact with a bat:
Do NOT touch the bat yourself – even dead or injured bats can transmit the virus through small breaks in the skin.Confine your dog safely away from the bat.Contact us immediately – we will schedule a consultation with your pet, provide antiseptic care for any wounds and will submit an application form to the Chief Veterinary Officer at the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries to obtain approval to use the inactivated rabies vaccine in your pet.Report the incident to Biosecurity Queensland on 📞 13 25 23.
🦸‍♀️ Who can help with the bat?
If the bat is still alive or needs to be collected for Lyssavirus testing, contact these wildlife groups:
📞 RSPCA QLD 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625) – They can advise on handling and coordinate with wildlife carers.
📞 Bat Conservation & Rescue QLD (BCRQ) – 0488 228 134
Volunteers are trained in safe bat rescue and can assist with collection.
📞 Wildcare Australia Inc. – 07 5527 2444
They have a 24-hour wildlife rescue line covering South-East Queensland.
These organisations have trained wildlife rescuers who use protective gear and follow testing protocols when dealing with potential Lyssavirus cases.

⚠️ Remember: ABLV is rare, but 100% fatal once symptoms appear. Early action is crucial to protect your pet and your family.

If you are unsure on what to do, please call us. We’d rather be safe than sorry.
Let’s keep our pets and community safe — please share this post to spread awareness.

🫢 This is Kenny. Don’t be like Kenny. 🫢
(Although… we love Kenny.)

Kenny’s owner has kindly let us share his tale of chaos. While it wasn’t very funny at the time… but now? We’re howling. 😂

So, picture this: it’s a glorious Friday arvo. Kenny’s packed his overnight bag, ready for a sleepover at his Auntie’s house. About a month prior, Kenny had gone full Houdini and escaped, disappearing for two whole days. Ever since, he’s sported an Apple AirTag on his collar — like a little furry fugitive with a GPS bracelet. 📍

But on this particular day… the AirTag was missing. The collar? On. The AirTag? MIA. His owner figured it must’ve popped off in the backyard or got lost in his fluff of his bed. Oh well — they’d look later.

Fast forward to Auntie’s place. She gets a notification: “An AirTag is travelling with you.”
Cue Spooky music 🎵👻 .
She digs through Kenny’s bed, unpacks his doggy duffel bag, and pings the tag to hear that classic beep beep beep. But where was it? The pinging was getting louder… then quieter… then…

Kenny walked past her.
Ping got louder.
She froze. Put her ear to his belly.
Piiiing. 🚨

💡 Kenny. Ate. The. AirTag. 💡
(We’ve heard of internal tracking but this is next level)

Cue panic — batteries and dog bellies don’t mix. Kenny was rushed to us, and we promptly induced vomiting 🤢. After a few technicolor yawn sessions, out came the AirTag! Slightly chewed, still beeping, and surprisingly still connected to Find My iPhone.

Kenny was fine. A bit confused. Possibly offended. But fine. Some anti-nausea meds later, he was back to his bouncy, mischievous self. 🐶🐾

His AirTag is now very securely fastened. Like, Fort Knox level. We still don’t know why Kenny thought his tracker was a snack. Curiosity? A dare? Maybe he wanted to track his insides? Maybe he mistook it for a mint? We’ll never know. 🤷🏼‍♀️

🤔 Has your pet ever eaten something weird?
🧦 Socks? 🪙 Coins? 📱 AirTags??
Tell us below — we can’t wait to feel better about Kenny.
