Chunky vegetables look aesthetically pleasing to our eyes, but they are not as digestible for our pups. Some pups also eat around the vegetables. At Tucker Tub, we prioritise animal health over marketability, which is why we mince our vegetables.

Low-fat diets might be popular for us, but they don’t work the same way for dogs. Many commercial and even homemade diets either go too low in fat or use the wrong fats in excess just to cut costs. Dogs actually run best on fat as their main source of energy.

Bright, colourful vegetables make dog meals look good to us, but when they creep up to 30% or more, it’s too much fibre. A little helps digestion, but too much can dilute calories and upset tummies.

🍞 Dogs don’t need carbs
Humans can convert carbs into glucose for fuel. Dogs already make their own glucose from protein and fat. That means carbs from rice, potato or grain fillers do not provide essential nutrients for dogs.
