Hi everyone,
I just wanted to keep you up to date with our ongoing interactions with the science behind what we do here at SOS Dogs.

I take my ongoing professional development very seriously and I genuinely believe this is a key factor that sets us apart as quality dog behaviourists.

Im thrilled to have completed my latest course specialising in Dog Cognition and Emotion run by Dr Brian Hare.
Dr Hare is the co-founder of The Duke Canine Cognition Centre, which was the first of its kind in the United States.

This course was so interesting for me personally, but also enabled me to continue to provide my clients the most up to date information and research on leading dog behavioural techniques.

Like much in life, it is a field that is constantly evolving, so it is my personal mission to keep pace with the world's best.
My professor, Dr. Hare is a specialist in Evolutionary Anthropology, Psychology, and Neuroscience.
I'll post a few interesting snippets over the next few weeks and months, but to kick things off here is an interesting fact that the research has proven….

*Mothers and their offspring can remember each other after long periods of time apart. Even when separated at 8 weeks of age, Its been proven they recognise each other via sight and scent when reunited more than 2 years apart.
Interestingly, siblings don't have the same recognition under similar conditions😮

Stay tuned for more interesting science down the track!

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or to learn more about our services. We love hearing from you🐶

Hi everyone,We had an unusual situation today on our way back from the pack walk. A man in a Ute pulled over, seemed to look for us, and took photos as we headed inside. He then drove off without saying anything. While we’re used to people taking photos or videos of the dogs—usually with a friendly chat first—this felt a bit different. We understand there could be an innocent reason, and if you were just curious or needed help, please feel free to say hello next time—we’re always happy to chat😊We wanted to share a short snippet of the security footage in case anyone else has had a similar experience. We’re also considering passing it along to the police for peace of mind.
