A genuine question.....

Would you rather a breeder be honest with you, or tell you what you want to hear?

As breeders, we are often asked for specific traits — eye colour, size, markings, s*x, coat colour, temperament, and so on. The reality is that ethical breeders cannot guarantee many of these things, nor should they pretend they can.

Sometimes the most honest answer is:
"Sorry, I can't accommodate what you're looking for."

That isn't a personal attack. It isn't a judgment on you as a dog owner. It doesn't mean you're not a wonderful home. It simply means that what you're hoping for doesn't align with what that breeder can realistically provide.

Personally, I'd rather be upfront from the beginning than give someone false hope, lead them on for months, or promise something I can't guarantee.

Honesty isn't always the answer people want to hear, but it will always be the answer they get from me.

What would you prefer — honesty, even when it's disappointing, or being told what you want to hear?

🐾 Impulse Buying vs Thoughtful Decisions 🐾

Puppies naturally create emotional reactions — that’s normal. Studies in consumer behaviour show 80% of people are far more likely to make emotionally driven purchases when it comes to pets because they’re seen as family, not just possessions.

I share lots of puppy photos because I love documenting their growth, personalities, and special moments with our community. But sharing photos is very different from encouraging impulse buying.

One thing many people don’t realise is that:
• Not every puppy photo posted online means puppies are available
• Many photos are of past litters or puppies already spoken for ( afterall, been here for over 25 yrs so got lots to share)
• Ethical breeders often share content for education, updates, and connection — not pressure sales.

For me, breeding has never been about “quick sales” or creating urgency.

A puppy is a long-term commitment that should involve planning, research, lifestyle consideration, and choosing the right fit for both the puppy and the family.

That’s why I focus on:
✔️ Educating families
✔️ Matching the right puppy to the right home
✔️ Responsible, ethical breeding
✔️ Lifelong support for my puppies and their families

Puppy photos bring joy — and they should. But the decision to bring one home should always be thoughtful, not impulsive!
