Last night I stayed back for two extra hours so a family could say goodbye to their dog. No rushing. No pressure. Just space to grieve, cuddle, cry, and tell their best friend how loved they were.
This is the part of veterinary medicine people don’t see.
Not the late nights.
Not the emotional weight.
Not the choice to put compassion before convenience.
Vets are not in this for the money. We’re in it for the animals, and for the people who love them. Even when it costs us time, energy, and pieces of our hearts. 🐾
