What’s a “foster fail”? 🐾💛
Well… let’s just say it’s the best kind of “failure” you’ll ever have!

When we first met Judy, she was meant to be a holiday foster , just two weeks while her carers went on holiday. But by day three, she’d already squeezed her way right into our hearts (and in between our other two greys!). She became our “middle child” and brought so much joy and laughter to our home.

💨 She loved zoomies but always had to dodge us at the last minute , a little game she loved to play.
👟 She’d sneak our shoes off to her bed, just for comfort (never to destroy!).
👀 And oh, that dinner-time stare… silent, determined, and absolutely hilarious.

We tried to resist, but who can resist a greyhound who’s already claimed your couch? Judy stayed with us for seven amazing years — the best foster fail of our lives.

🛏️ Did you know?
Greyhounds can sleep up to 18 hours a day – and they do it in style!

One of the funniest (and most iconic) greyhound sleeping positions is called “roaching” – when they lie flat on their back, legs in the air like a cockroach. It looks bizarre, but it usually means they feel safe, relaxed, and totally at home.

💤 Roaching = pure bliss for a greyhound.

Success Story 😍😍😍
“I always dreamed of adopting a greyhound…”
That’s how Lara’s adopter began when I asked her about their story — and what followed was one of those beautiful, real-life reminders of why we do what we do.

Lara was 4 years old when she was adopted, and her new human had one very specific hope: to find a greyhound who could live peacefully with their cat. Anyone who knows greys knows how rare that is — most are not cat-friendly. In fact, two other greyhounds were trialled before Lara, and while lovely, they just weren’t a safe match.

Then came Lara. Calm, gentle, and cat-friendly — a rare combination and the perfect fit. But even then, it wasn’t instant. The family worked hard to get it right. There were weeks of slow introductions, constant supervision, keeping both animals safe and comfortable.

And it worked. Over time, the cat and Lara began to understand one another. Now, they’re like siblings — bickering, hanging out in the garden together, and occasionally ignoring each other in the way only pets can.

Lara’s adopter told me how she even sits sometimes — awkward and adorable — which any greyhound lover knows is a special kind of treat. Her name was changed to suit her sweet personality, and she has fully settled into family life.

She’s loved. She’s home.

This story is a reminder that adoption isn’t always easy — but when it’s right, it’s completely worth it. 💛

🎩 Meet Bunji — the handsome gent in a natural black tux with a perfect white bow tie.

He’s currently living it up in foster care, but what he really wants is a forever home (with tummy rubs included).

☕️ Bunji is the ultimate café date. He’ll happily stroll with you to the coffee shop, charm the locals, and lounge like a true pro while you sip your latte.

🐾 His hobbies include: – Snuggling (the longer the hug, the better)
– Squeaky toys (10/10 entertainment)
– Collecting important household items (slippers, school bags, the mop… just for safekeeping)
– Casual games of fetch (optional)
– Strategic nap placement (he can nap anywhere, anytime)

Other non-grey dogs? He’s not too fussed. But people? He adores them.

Bunji is equal parts goofy, dapper, and cuddly — and he’s ready to bring joy, loyalty, and a touch of mischief to the right home.

It’s nearly Easter… and April is Greyhound Adoption Month!
So we have one very important question:
Why hasn’t P***y found her forever family yet?!

She’s got the ears, the zoomies, the cuddles, the “I’ll open your doors for you” kind of brains… and enough love to fill an Easter basket (or five).

P***y is thriving in foster care, but she’s ready to hop into a home of her own!
She’s:
• Cuddly, cheeky, and full of character
• Toilet trained and great with her foster brothers
• Possibly cat/small dog friendly (TBC)
• Slightly too clever (watch your doors!)
• Always up for a walk…

Let’s not let Easter pass her by without the gift of a forever home.

Calling all greyhound enthusiasts! We are thrilled to announce that Grey’s Second Chance will be hosting our much-anticipated Hops n Hounds Meet & Greet on Saturday, February 22nd! Join us at the beautiful Fortitude Brewery and Tamborine Cheese Shop, located at 165 Long Road, Tamborine Mountain, for a day filled with fun, friendship, and furry companions.

- Meet Other Greyhound Lovers: Connect with fellow greyhound owners and enthusiasts who share your passion for these gentle giants.
- Adoption & Fostering Awareness: Learn more about the incredible greyhounds looking for their forever homes, and how you can help through fostering or adopting!
- Great Food & Drinks: Enjoy delicious cheese from Tamborine Cheese Shop and refreshing brews from Fortitude Brewery while mingling with our hound-loving community.

Introducing P***y,

Little Miss P***y has been in foster care for a few weeks now and is truly flourishing in her new life as a pampered house hound.

P***y is a cheerful and adventurous girl who is eager to explore new experiences. She is fully toilet trained and gets along well with her three fellow greyhounds in her foster home.

Fearless and affectionate, she is currently learning what personal space means. This fun-loving girl is relishing the affection and love she missed as a racing greyhound. She is active and loves her walks, displaying her intelligence by already figuring out how to open the French doors with her paw! How adorable! If you're looking for a little black shadow who will love you unconditionally and always seek your affection, then Miss P***y is the perfect companion for you.
